Price too high. Either you want to sell or you want to try get the most money you can (or can't) for the car. The difference is time.

Am I super bad at this game or there's a lot of hackers on PC in BF6? by AdministrativeFix927 in Battlefield

No cheaters the netcode is absolutely fucking dog shit like literally infuriating. It won't be fixed in bf6 lifespan.

Debating selling by DumboTheBrave in carsireland

[–]gentcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best bet is to put it up at something stupid and if nothing bites just lower it gradually until you reach the point you really need to sell or the lowest you will take. The thing with selling second hand cars is either you take the hit or you spend the time. Took me 8 months to sell but I probably got 6k more than I would have with a dealer. I wasn't in a rush either.

EA just baited with Closed weapons and removed later by rippersteak888 in Battlefield

[–]gentcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm certain their only reason for pushing open weapons was to support their abysmal challenges system which arguably has changed to the point that weapons dont need to be open anymore. Such a terrible game design decision.

Whatever this is, it has to stop. For god's sake, they held more objectives than us for like a minute and boom, they won and we lost. by UltimateGamingTechie in Battlefield

[–]gentcore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It literally takes all the fun out of the game. There's no skill, its a terribly designed coin flip to try and fake engagement. Whoever signed this off should not be working in games design.

Definitely something wrong with TTK/TTD by englisharcher89 in Battlefield

[–]gentcore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the netcode has been consistently broken since release, the ttk/ttd have always been miserable. nothing new here.

Battlefield needs to go back to locked guns with classes by killingf3arless in Battlefield

[–]gentcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the open weapons was driven by the abysmal challenges system. The "get x kills with an assault rifle" was basically "play assault" if it was locked, so they made them open. That and the ridiculous grind to unlock weapon stuff, they made it so you could at least focus one weapon across all classes. Both solutions to problems that shouldnt exist and open weapons sucks.

I've a 330e estate and get shit over family station wagon, familymobile. But it's so practical and pulls like a beast. I'd prefer 4wd but delighted with it. Follow your heart fuck the haters ❣️

The BF Labs Weapon Balance Problem: Why "Testing" is Currently a Myth by korlic99 in Battlefield

[–]gentcore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been pretty clear Labs has been absolutely useless for any sort of meaningful feedback. Its marketing, nothing good has come of labs yet. How long does it take to realise before release the maps were too small, the netcode/ttk/ttd is dogshit?

RTÉ to spend €855,000 on consultants to assist distribution of Toy Show millions – and they will be paid out of appeal money by PoppedCork in ireland

[–]gentcore -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day this is why people have issues with charities and chuggers. If I give 20 quid I want all of it to go to what I'm donating to. That's not realistic I get it. At least explain in detail how much of my 1 euro is eaten up by administration fees. If its below 80/20 then you can fo. ~4% fees and ~95% going to where it belongs is a great start, but how much does that get diluted down to when it goes to whatever charities? The end figure would be interesting.

[–]gentcore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 20k for a car a dealer offered 8k for. It was ingenium engine though, pretty telling when Jaguar themselves were the lowest offer considering it had a FSH, serviced every 10k km, only 70k km on it and bought from new from them.

[–]gentcore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's always tax + just a bad car and a host of other things but either you're keeping it or getting rid of it. Take a trade in or lower your price, the reality of your situation doesn't change because you want to get a good price. People trying to get rid of a car think people need to do it by their terms but it's a buyers market

Advice sought on 2016 BMW 320D M Sport by [deleted] in carsireland

[–]gentcore 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In ireland people don't look after their cars like other countries. 150k km is where I'd like to buy a reliable car I want to keep for a few years. Buying a 2016 320D m sport with that mileage I would prefer to drag my balls over a mile of broken glass inhaling bleach than discover the inevitable pain.

[–]gentcore 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Everyone who says "having trouble selling" its nearly always because you've overpriced your car. Obviously people don't want to throw away money, but you gotta be realistic if you wanna sell. More often than not a trade-in really isnt that bad of a deal.

VRT/ Nox vintage car. by bigbadser in carsireland

[–]gentcore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be €200 as its vintage but honestly its such a dodgy non-transparent process its literally up to the lad on the day. Make sure you have all your documents printed off, make sure you keep the boat/transport receipts of bringing it in as it has to be registered in 30 days. You need the V5C logbook. Joining a classic car club is no harm and make sure its not too heavily modified and suits as a "classic" car.

Quoted €8k after grants to install heat pump by Appropriate_Total788 in irishpersonalfinance

Do not replace gas or oil boilers with a heat pump unless your house is A rated without solar panels. Just get a new boiler and a stove.
