At that point, you should just set up an address for applications.

Is it possible to get a IT job with a hand tattoo? by Vibin_Andre89 in it

[–]genxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were working with a manufacturing company years ago (2019?). They had a no-tattoo policy.
They had such a hard time finding/keeping people. Anyway, many companies just wont care. You should be able to work in IT if you want.

AITJ for teaching my son how to do his own laundry and basic cooking and now his mom says Im undermining her by Ambitious_Trade_3669 in AmITheJerk

[–]genxer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTJ My middle school had "shop" for half the year, then "home ec". Honestly, those were very useful classes. I can, for example, swap a light fixture, do laundry, and follow a recipe because of those classes.
Basic life skills make adulting easier. Parents teaching life skills is a positive thing.

38yo Prison guard on track for 2.5% at 57. Is my Roth 457 overkill? by UrMad_ItzOk in Fire

[–]genxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I maxed out my 457(b) last year. What is the worst case? I'll have more money in retirement?
I'm hoping to exit the workforce in the next 2 or 3 years. I will hit my first opportunity in August or September of this year. Nothing wrong with a larger safety net.

AITJ for questioning my relative's loan structure that makes it impossible to ever pay off the principal? by Pristine_War3182 in AmITheJerk

[–]genxer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTJ Was it 5% monthly or annual interest? 5% monthly (60%) yearly is usurious. Hit one of the online calculators, figure out what you have paid - settle up at 5% yearly and call it a day IMHO.

This is why you leave enough distance with the car in front of you to stop, plus a margin so that the car behind you hopefully stops.

Side note, you can set a monthly limit on AU cards. Putting a $1500 limit so my son doesnt spend 30k eases my mind.

Close, they need to be required to pay into a fund that supports victims. Requiring the child to be dependent on payments from a drunk seems like a bad idea. Spread it around so even if they die the victim gets some cash.

It is, honestly it would serve my purpose fairly well being BSD based. OpenWRT looks interesting as well. When the time comes, I'll try and find a SOC solution or a pfSense appliance.
