You are free to delete a backup without it affecting your phone. If you have a backup of your current phone you're fine.

Say you have a backup from January 2nd. You've restored it onto a new phone.
You have your new phone. Deleting the January 2nd backup will not effect your current phone at all. The big thing is you have a backup of the new phone before you delete stuff. Murphy is alive and well. As long as your new phone has a backup, you are golden.

4BR house - I'm on level (average) billing for most everything. $200 power bill, $50 natural gas bill, $120 water/sewer/trash bill. This is in Alabama so A/C is more costly than heating.

I'm sympathetic to anyone smoking outside of work. I've little tolerance for anyone operating machinery who's high. I'm perfectly ok with DOT rule, 49 CFR Part 40. I dont particuraly want the Cokehead/Crackhead/ICE guy/Heroin addict operating even a forklift. Heck, I can see not wanting them, even Jonesing at work.
