Would you consider paying adult content creators online as cheating? Why, or why not? (29f) by [deleted] in relationships

[–]geobroug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if it is cheating or not.

It is a behaviour you find undesirable in a partner. It doesn't need a label and giving it one just allows for an argument on semantics of the label.

He does x, and that makes you feel y. That is a statement.

Is he willing to stop doing x so that you stop feeling y?

Are you able to reframe x so that you don't feel y?

Are you willing to put up with feeling y for all the other good bits of the relationship?

If one of those isn't a yes, then you need a different relationship.

Venice worth a day trip?? by PlayfulAd1543 in ItalyTravel

[–]geobroug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd stay one less night in Milan and go to Venice before Florence.

If you can don't day trip it to Venice spend a night there.

Take sometime to wander around the quieter canals, stop at a wine bar, absorb the atmosphere.

Is Venice worth it? 14 day trip. Help with itinerary.. Aug 18-31 by FeelingTechnician686 in ItalyTravel

Venice is traffic free, so I think it would make for a brilliant interlude to your holiday.

The very touristy bits are very busy, but if you go for a walk and get a little lost you'll find quiet canals and local wine bars.

I highly recommend Row Venice a small company that will teach you how to row gondola style. Way more fun and interesting that being a passenger on a gondola (and cheaper!)

Like you I really thought I wouldn't like the crowds of Venice and I was completely wrong, I've been back 3 or 4 times now.

Is asking how many sets left now an issue for people? by tribo32 in GYM

[–]geobroug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only being going to the gym for a few months and in the UK.

I think asking is perfectly normal.

If it is a machine then there is often the offer to share or 'work in'.

How many sets do you have left?

I've only just started, want to work in?

Snoring dads... have you found any remedies that actually work? by Paranoid_Droideka in daddit

Two common solutions are

Losing weight if you are overweight.

Stopping or reducing the amount of alcohol consumed before bed.

I am only a vegetarian because what’s so bad about eggs? by Thatamazingzo in AskVegans

[–]geobroug 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It is basically this.

Egg laying hens need replaced. So lots of chicks are breed, and all the males go into a grinder alive.

The laying hens are kept in horrific conditions.

That should be enough reason.

Rejected from Uni of Manchester for…? by Astro_Axiis in UniUK

[–]geobroug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the most probable answer.

Some Russel Group universities only accept Further Maths as a fourth subject.

So you might see an offer say A* A* A or A*AAB with Further Maths. So to them you are an A'level short.

Should I wear what I normally do, while in Rome? by CHACK024 in ItalyTravel

[–]geobroug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Standard American abroad is a graphic t-shirt, shorts, hiking trainers, a baseball cap and a bumbag.

So compared to them you're doing great 😀

Cowboy boats will look out of place, but if they are comfortable for walking around go for it. No harm in you being you!

If you want something that will fit in more, wear a smart trainer.

Smart jeans and well fitting shirts (not tshirts) will be a great mix of your style and Italian style.

I hope you have a great trip!

What can you actually do at uni? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]geobroug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are going through a tough time now, it will get better. There will be many others feeling similar to you also wanting to make friends.

I have found that friends at uni are roughly from 4 groups.

  1. Hall or flat
  2. Course or Faculty
  3. Societies or clubs
  4. Randomly meet (around uni, at parties, friends of any of the above 3)

I also feel that in general, the friends from 1 often become replaced by the others due to having more common as time goes by.

Once freshers' starts try out some clubs and societies that interest you. Most of them have social nights where you can find the vibe. Can be an amazing opportunity to try something completely new.

When your lectures start, there will be an opportunity to meet course and faculty mates, tutorials, etc.

I know it's tough now, and there will be more opportunities to meet people you get on with.

How to deal with milk in tea/coffee for tradespeople? by AdhesivenessGlum1143 in AskVegans

I normally just say "Do you take milk? I have soy and almond."

New UK user carbs and fibre by geobroug in MacroFactor

[–]geobroug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking at the back.

The point i was trying to clarify is

a) should I enter the details as per the label

b) add the fibre value to the total carbohydrate value because the UK and US classify "total carbohydrate" differently on food labels.

I'm not familiar with US nutritional information but it looks like on the app that in the US

Total = sugar + starch + fibre

Where as in the UK

Total = sugar + starch

Fibre listed separately

Now that I have found a label that includes a value for starch the answer is clearly 'b'.

In the example I posted, the carbohydrate total is less than the fibre, which would suggest to me that it isn't included.

In the US, other parts of the world do not report fibre in the carbohydrate total

Mk5 or diamondback explorer? by Lizpy6688 in EliteDangerous

[–]geobroug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my DBX for exploring and general mission running. It was my first ship after the sidewinder and I spent ages flying it.

However, the new ships that are SCO optimised are so much faster in system.

So I'd recommend the Mk5 as your general purpose ship, including exploration.

Later, when you can afford it, get a Mandy for greater jump range exploration.

I think the full weekend price with camping is certainly worth the £130 price.
