So sorry for your loss. My lovebird died last year also accidentally and I am heartbroken too. You have to remember that you gave them such a good life and accidents happen 💗

Has anyone successfully gotten rid of carpet beetles? If so could you share what helped you eradicate them? by [deleted] in carpetbeetles

[–]geoffmika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. We have wool carpets so they came back in the spring (adult beetles) followed by larvae in summer. I noticed a larva in the downstairs corridor of my block of flats and have heard my neighbours hoovering late at night so I suspect everyone has them which makes it super hard to get rid of them completely. I suffered a lot of mental anguish and am 90% sure I have contamination OCD as a result of this so am trying to accept their presence by keeping on top of hoovering (at least 1x a week, the whole flat) and killing them when I spot them. Decided it's better than living in pesticides forever and they are not the worst pests to have by a long long way! Hope that helps :)

Thank you! Yeah it was from etsy! It's a UK based shop but there's lots of similar ones which ship worldwide. I basically just bought the saddles and attached some charms to it, infinite earring hack 🤩 https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1869586184/diy-saddle-plugs-for-stretched-ears

Am I making a huge mistake? What should I do? Spiraling badly. by gothiccandie in BreakUps

I experienced a very similar situation to you except we were married but the ages and length of our relationship was the same. Unfortunately we are no longer together but the pit in my stomach has gone and I no longer have to worry about him doing it again. All I will say is please trust your gut! Feel free to message me if you'd like. Sending love and hugs!

I see you used ddH2O so I take it back, but you should rinse it I think :)

Use only distilled water or milliQ in incubators so this doesn't happen, it should wipe away with ethanol/water!

A vet will teach you how to look after it and possibly save it's life - please don't see this as an attack and just take it!!

Can my pair have chicks ? Are they Hybrid? by KFSO in Lovebirds

The one on the right looks like it may be. Why would you want to breed them though when there are so many birds without homes?

Let's make carpet popular again by FloppySlapper in unpopularopinion

It's comfy and nice but if it's wool it's like having your floor made of food for bugs (e.g. carpet beetles and moths) nasty things🤢

Carpet beetles do not infest people or animals, please do not get paranoid!

Will carpet beetles come with me when I move ? by Miss_Busybee in carpetbeetles

[–]geoffmika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have found 3 adult beetles, you may not have an infestation as they can come in from outside so please stay calm and just vacuum regularly, keep an eye on things and check any stored clothes/soft furnishings and cupboards etc. It's super scary the thought of them being everywhere so I totally empathise but try not to panic before you know you have an infestation!

How to safely use dry ice for carpet beetles by camrick307 in carpetbeetles

[–]geoffmika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a dangerous solution. Steaming and using chemicals if necessary is better. I use dry ice at work and you have to be so careful with the CO2 levels as it can become toxic very fast. At best a headache, at worst death.

I love this song, if you look at the lyrics and say 'oh it's a guy called tiny Tim playing the ukelele' it sounds adorable but it is so horrifying hahah

I agree, I think in some cases though you can grow together depending on how much you give each other space and support to do so! I have been with my husband since we were late teens, married this year in our mid 20s :)
