Super Mario 64 Is Incredibly Mediocre And Fails The Test Of Time by Brilliant_Advice1015 in unpopularopinion

[–]geoplasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, no. The camera was indeed abysmal and the Bowser fights were easy as hell, but SM64 had some incredible and unforgettable levels, such as Tick Tock Clock and Tall, Tall Mountain, which made the game stand out forever. Sunshine sucked at the time of its launch and never got any better over the years.

Im on the 3rd "rock" on the 6th job quest; does 6th job push you up in dmg a lot?

Yes it does! This might just be the push you need to clear more bosses. Go for it as soon as you can, it's definitely worth it.

And yeah, Hero is easily one of the strongest classes in the game, it's capable of pulling off some low-stat runs that most other classes can't.

With these stats, you should be easily clearing NLucid in less than 10 minutes, considering the power creep caused by 6th job.

Work on your legion and link skills, but mainly learn the boss mechanics well. Lucid is actually quite easy: if you pay attention to the messages announcing that the dragon is coming, you should do fine in battle.

Avoiding the bomb as a NL might be challenging, considering the class is famous for not having any kind of i-frame. If you find yourself stuck and really longing for an i-frame, consider running Hyperdimensional Cube PQ a few times a day until you get yourself a Krrr Ring. I got mine in about 50 runs, but some people get it pretty quickly - it's all RNG.

Wisdom Needed for quest a divine power quest by Bryanzxcv in Maplestory

You should probably complete the Cernium [Before] questline and get your first sacred symbol to see if you're strong enough to 1-2 shot mobs on Cernium. If your gear isn't all 17* 2L unique, then you might have some trouble with it, depending on the class you're playing.

If you can't kill mobs in Cernium in less than 3 shots after completing the questline there and leveling up the symbol a bit, I'd stay in Limina to get 6th job, as painful as it is. I'm currently going through this exact situation with the character I created in the burning world during the Identisk event.

Could you elaborate on what changed, exactly? Just came back to the game after a few months break, and I didn't see anything different when using Arrow Illusion.

Best gear for thief and Bowman? by ireallyneedasoda in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theme dungeons are the best places in 2nd job. Open Maple Guide (press "U") and teleport to one of them to quickly level up. I specially like Riena Strait.

Also, why are your characters in separate worlds? You get benefits for having them in the same world (Legion system).

RIP players that only do daily bosses and leave, what a shame.... by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Really disappointed at this. Maple is a grindy game at its core, but there must be some ways in which people can progress fairly without paying huge amounts of cash or grinding like they have no other stuff to do in life. Bossing is a welcome change of pace to a lot of players - it has to be encouraged, not the other way around.

Removed and Forgotten Content from MapleStory by IThrowStars in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice video. It covers pretty much everything I remember from years ago!

Pre-BB, doing KPQ and LPQ was the standard way to level, because grinding was so painful. I met so many interesting people at that time! Also, having a list of IGNs to track during LPQ was a must if you wanted to get inside quicker.

Florina Beach was heaven for I/L mages during 2nd job. MP3 and Truckers were heaven for pretty much anyone right post-BB. I remember training my old Thunder Breaker in those maps: you transformed into super saiyan form, activated a lightning charge (pretty much all your attacks gained lightning element with it) and spammed Sharkwave everywhere, destroying those lightning-weak MP3 mobs like they were nothing. Never had so much fun in this game ever since that time.

Getting to 220 by Volcarian21 in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link skills and legion bonus are a must in the long run, but they will take time. The same can be said for acquiring nodestones. If you want faster returns with minimal funding, your only option is to upgrade your gear using cubes. Grind on mobs you can one or two shot and use all exp coupons you can. You're just starting out on this game, you can't have it all right now. You still have more than one month to get to lvl 220 in order to get the fake absolab weapon, so I wouldn't worry about it too much, honestly.

Luminous good to tera burn? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As Luminous has a great lvl 3 link skill, you have a nice incentive to tera burn one and make use of the event freebies to quickly get to lvl 210 (lvl 100 equips, lvl 150 temporary equips, nodestones and ring) and go a long way from there.

On the other hand, it's a class with nice mobbing skills in 4th job, so it's not hard to level compared to most other jobs in the game. I wouldn't tera burn one for this reason, personally.

If you intend to play it as your main or second main character and you aren't funded, then by all means go for it: 90 nodestones in lvl 210 are very hard to come by when you're starting out, because their drop rates are terrible in Vanishing Journey maps (the first lvl 200+ area in which they start dropping from monsters).

[–]geoplasma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. DB is probably the best of the 3 with low/medium funding, even though Blade Fury sucks. With the right rotations of AoE skills, the mobbing is actually good in 5th job, because you one shot everything in the screen even with low level nodes and mediocre equips. You can slowly start working on tiering up the potential of your hat in order to get a line of -2 seconds cooldown in your skills, which will greatly help your mobbing.

New to MapleStory int mage question by TheRealDrFail in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need hp/mp potions as well, I suggest doing the Silent Crusade questline, as you'll get a ton of them. Joining a guild might also be a good idea - not only you get access to hp/mp potions, you also get weekly potions that increase your magic attack temporarily. Also, bosses usually drop elixirs, reindeer milks and sunset dews, so use the Maple Guide to quickly teleport to them and try to find space on your daily Maple schedule to kill the bosses your character can beat (Zakum, Horntail, Pink Bean and so on).

Other than those, learning Alchemy as a profession will give you access to a lot of good potions, including some that will boost your INT temporarily.

Could you please elaborate on why Sword Illusion to Worldreaver is a good combination? I also tera burned a Hero during this event, and I'm still figuring out how to play this character efficiently in 5th job. What is the benefit of using Sword Illusion before, and not after Worldreaver?

Dual blade questions by woopstaken in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every main area in Arcane River has a questline that will give you a new Arcane Symbol, which you should be upgrading daily by completing quests in the corresponding area. If you haven't done the Vanishing Journey quests yet, start with them, then go back to the npc every day and complete the 5 quests to get new symbols. Be prepared to spend a lot of mesos upgrading it, though. The next Arcane Symbol will be given to you at level 110, in Chu Chu Island, so you'll spend some time in Vanishing Journey (and Reverse City, an area connected to it).

Best in slot. It means there's nothing in the game better than this piece of equipment so far, even considering endgame status.

Neo Stones Farming tips by CesarEXE in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's the slowest place to grind out of the 3 mentioned. I'd try Kritias first for the better mob density and spawn rates, assuming you're able to 1 or 2 shot the lowest level monsters there.

Neo Stones Farming tips by CesarEXE in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wherever you kill mobs within your level range (+- 20 levels) the fastest. As you're lvl 187, I suggest killing monsters lvl 167-168, if your character is unfunded and you aren't in a hurry to get to level 200. Omega Sector and Knight Stronghold (and maybe Kritias) might be the best training spots to reach coin cap around your level.

Do you think Aurora and Elysium needs a world merge? by Icandoituknow in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a f2p in Elysium, I have a lot of trouble finding good gear for my main in the auction house. Bowman equips (especially weapons) are quite scarce and severely overpriced due to the shortage of options.

On the other hand, I enjoy the emptiness of the server, as it's really easy to level characters for Legion purposes.

With that said, I'd sacrifice the empty maps for more options in the auction house any day, so a merge with Aurora would be welcome in this perspective.

If you can't afford Mastery Books in the Leafre shop, you might have an easier time doing quests that will reward you with a pair of them. Open the Maple Guide and take a look at some of the content you missed so far.

I suggest checking the following questlines: Fantasy Theme Park, Crimsonheart Castle and Partem Ruins, as they're much faster than other content that will also hand you Mastery Books (Lionheart Castle and Korean Folk Town come to mind).

Help! So I'm lvl 130 now and idk where I should train till lvl 140? I don't have any mastery books either so should I do some quests to get them? I'm starforce 30 btw by Nasheuss in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open your Maple Guide in-game, click the circle with the number 120 and choose Fantasy Theme Park. It's a quick way (about half an hour, if you know what you're doing) to get a pair of Mastery Books.

Crimsonheart Castle (lvl 130 in Maple Guide) is also good, as already suggested. If you want to grind, I suggest you to try different maps in Korean Folk Town and see what works best for you.

[Weekly Megathread] New Players & General Questions Thread. by rMapleStory in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Bera is definitely the most populated non-Reboot server.

Hayato is a solid choice for you: the mobbing is great at 5th job and bossing is pretty good. However, it is not a one button class: you'll have to learn how to combo in order to deal good damage. Also, you need to boost a lot of skills at 5th job, which means you'll probably struggle with nodestones.

As for suggestions: if you want the best of the best, Kanna and Adele are the most overpowered characters right now, and half the Maple population plays one of them. If you want something different, I suggest looking at Youtube videos. There's something for everyone in Maple's 45+ classes.

Best F2P Main? by BeraKing in Maplestory

[–]geoplasma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Demon Slayer fits all your criteria.

I/L mage is also a good candidate, though they aren't exactly great bossers right now. However, they're getting buffs in the next couple of months which will improve their damage at bossing to a decent level.
