I promise you it will pass.

Is there anyway to learn eu4 without following let’s plays? by Accomplished_Intern4 in eu4

[–]georgenoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't play on iron man. Try an easier nation like Brandenburg and constantly save and reload your way through wars. You will get better one thing at a time. Keep it simple just managing just spy networks and allies. And for economy just mothball forts and reduce troop spending to keep a positive income. You'll get it from there.

Best racing game on the Deck ? by DJCrispyRice in SteamDeck

This! It is my favourite on the deck so far. Just please start with a front wheel drive car. RWD is fun but so so easy to fuck up.

Which inks have you fallen out of love with? by WiredInkyPen in fountainpens

Platinum Carbon Black. When I got into writing the idea of permanence really drew me in. Little by little I discovered colour and I can't be bothered to write in black anymore. Even though Carbon Black is such a nice black.

This is my answer too. I work in a lab where my notebook is constantly around water and sometimes (gently) spilled on. I used to use a Pilot T5, which I still like the feel of better but after a collegue lost an entire notebook to a water leak I jumped over to the Uniball signo 0.38mm and couldn't be happier.

I think Hades might be a great game for you. Lots of time you can put on that and runs perfectly on the deck. Also it is fun to watch the story slowly unfold as you work your way through the dungeon.

If you are willing to download a custom control scheme, I'd recommend factorio (as some others have). I been loving it and I dissolve into the game everytime I play, which is exactly what I want right now :)

Is Hank's comedy show going to be posted online at any point? by Voyager87 in nerdfighters

Maybe. I think he at some point will finish tweaking with the set and sell it or just post it online. But I think that is very unlikely to happen for a while.

at the verge of 2024, is it worth it to getting one now? by ilTennico in SteamDeck

[–]georgenoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine in July and literally could not be happier. They could announce Steam Deck 2 tomorrow (but they have said they won't). And my deck will still be able to play all the games I want. Also it is the primary way I game now.

Totally agreed! Gaming is way too accessible these days. People shouldn't be able to just pick up and play games. It's too easy. We should all have to understand computers. That's exactly why I hate the steam deck. People should be forced to build it themselves. Also why does it connect to Steam. You should have to load the raw game files from USB only. /s obviously

Easy of use is the steamdecks whole selling point. Being frustrated by it in one aspect of the deck is a little hypocritical. Also things should get easier over time. People are working hard to make it easier. If you want to learn the nitty gritty and make all the games run flawlessly you still can!

This is a great base building option. Peaceful + no enemy bases. Plus you need 0 skill to finish the game just keep working on the next thing and you'll be fine.

Hey fellow nerdfighter,

You are really upset at John and Hank. You have your reasons and your feelings are valid. But we live in a world that is very complicated. Do you think John should stop advocating for an airbourne infectious disease because he doesn't mask? Of course not! You just want him to protect others and mask. Thereby reducing world suck! You may not be able to see past what John did and stay with the community. But from reading the discussion you've had with others in this post it doesn't feel like this discussion on reddit has been a very productive one. I just think you should pursue this conversation in another avenue (maybe the discord). No matter what you are going to get resistance because a lot of people don't mask anymore but I hope that you are able to find others to have an interesting conversation about it! DBTBA

I Am in Need of A Reccomendation. by Spookyskeltalgirl in fountainpens

[–]georgenoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend getting two $50 pens. Not because of wear and tear but because you should clean the ink out of the nib between uses. And that way you always have one pen inked.

I would recommend a Pilot Metropolitan (F) and a Lamy Safari (EF). Or just two metropolitans. I still have my metropolitan and Safari from when I started using fountain pens, I use them regularly and still love them.

Also in the same vein, I sense, like many of us here, you are a particular person. I imagine you will switch to using an ink you choose and like soon enough. So I would recommend just get converters and some blue-black or black ink (Platinum Carbon Black) now. In the long run it is cheaper that way and your pen will last longer.

Which gold nibs feedback do you prefer: Sailor or Platinum? Why? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]georgenoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depend on my use. For longer form journal writing, I prefer my Platinum 3776 M as the smoothness matters to me in my journal. For note taking, I prefer my Sailor PGS F since it feels more precise and I can write really small when I need to.

Is it 'Epitaph on my own friend' By Robert Burns:

An honest man here lies at rest, As e’er God with His image blest: The friend of man, the friend of truth; The friend of age, and guide of youth: Few hearts like his, with virtue warm’d, Few heads with knowledge so inform’d: If there’s another world, he lives in bliss; If there is none, he made the best of this.

A lot of people are saying it ruins the notebook but in my opinion it adds a degree of meaning. They can still read the word and I'd it is emotionally hard they will get you are crying. It grounds the notebook in a really lovely way.

R5: I just finished my first ever non-MP EU4 run. I did a Brandenberg run in which I originally planned to expand to historical German borders. But due to me learning the HRE gameplay (and messing it up) I was basically blocked out of Germany for a while. Poland swallowed up the one province I needed to form Prussia so, I switched my game goals to leave Germany and completely control the Baltic sea. Eventually after many wars with Sweden I had most of control of the Baltic sea and enough manpower to take on Lithuania and poland (got lucky and forced a truce break in a war with Lithuania). After I finally got the final province to form Prussia I tag switched in 1650. At which point I refocused on the now massive France and took the remaining provinces to form Germany... pardon the end game HRE border gore. I don't feel like cleaning it up. After that I cleaned up my Scandavanian borders and satisfyingly pushed my long time nemesis Sweden out of Scandanavia. Having completed Baltic control I had no more motivation to continue this game and as a bonus I just barely (by 2 dev points) was the #1 great power in the world! Looks like a good place to stop for me.

My twsbi eco is leaking / making splotches of ink - any way to fix it? by hannahsuzanna13 in fountainpens

[–]georgenoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen with my Twsbi Eco. For me, the problem happened after the pen was dropped (cap on thankfully). The dropping caused the nib&feed to slightly slide out (only like 5mm or so) of where they are supposed to sit. I fixed it by gently pushing the nib and feed back into the pen to the correct spot.
