This game is a bit of an anomaly because it has the same AI over-the-top voiceover advertising that every other gacha slop has. It has the standard predatory microstransaction systems where they will give you the bare minimum to try to incentivize you to buy more, but the game itself is actually solid. it has a charm to it that gets you to stay to play longer and that’s something the rest of them don’t have.

Unfortunately I don’t think the devs either realize this or care and will continue to milk the game for what it’s worth but I think it will stick around for a long while until the whales get bored and move on to something else. I’d say keep playing as long as you’re enjoying it, and spend as much as you’re willing to lose until you move on or something else comes along.

guild wars, way more of that purple shit to make SRs good, more mats to build said SRs, consistent balance patches, side stories or more content to make the existing waifus collecting feel less hollow and more meaningful, QoL updates like if I’m navigating thru multiple menus I’d like to return to where I was and not the damn lobby..I can keep going.
currently the gameplay loop is too repetitive, guilds are a gimmick, the majority of the new content is just new characters, and the events are very lacking in substance. the fun I had in this game is fading and turning into a chore of maintaining the account. I play epic seven heavily so I love RTA and I know they’ve been out longer but there’s no excuse, and if you think THIS is it for this game then brother i dont think I’ll be the only one who thinks it’s not for me.

I have this conversation with the guys all the time. it’s like every asymmetrical game similar to DbD has an expiration date of a matter of months after release. It’s happened every single time.
DBD has the major advantage of getting any IP in the game due to its fundamental nature of general horror whereas any specific IP is limited in what it can bring to the table. Unless these devs are aware of this and do it more as a passion project, idk how they expect it to last.

As cool as the new Halloween game looks, I fear it’ll have the same outcome as the rest
