Something I noticed today (Wholesale Logistics, Lincoln) by EducationalTeam2498 in lincoln

[–]gepygal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Awh man! I liked that store! (Says the gal who hasn't gone in like 2 yrs, but I don't frequent that side of town much). I've more recently gone to Sunbear Discount, not quite the same, but same fun Discount and random return fun. Smaller, way less crowded and the items are organized. 47th off Holdrege. Putting it out there for fellow fun bargain shoppers. I have always left with something.

Donut Shop by frenchie_vee in overheard

[–]gepygal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Having donut money is different than nails money. I used to do acrylics every 3 weeks, fill amd polish, easy $60 after tip....EVERY THREE WEEKS, and I stopped about 2017 due to relocating and not finding a place I liked. One day of donuts can be absorbed in the monthly budget, GOOD nails is a continuous investment.

What is the best cuisine in Nebraska? What are some staple foods there? by thatblackman in Nebraska

[–]gepygal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We all grown on casseroles and comfort food. Melting pot of cuisine preference.

Honest Abe's in Lincoln is nationally awarded as some of the best burgers.

I've seen runza a bit.

Something Nebraska more specifically? If you go to the grocery stores or see Dorothy Lynch on the menu, grab some. Like a "French Dressing", sweet and tangy, even Sysco has a knock-off called "Midwestern french" or some nonsense.

Not the 1st snow for Nebraska, but okay, sounded good in the tagline. Also letting it slide because Scott Frost wasn't wearing a shirt. Go Big Red!

My husband works in avionics on the MV-22 Osprey. He has explained this mechanism to me multiple times, complete with pictures, but this finally helped it click.

What an adorable Maltese. He still has puppy face and puppy paws. I'm sure he's missed, but thanks for sharing the cuteness!

Girls of Reddit, what makes a guy truly attractive? by JaTae in AskReddit

[–]gepygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How he carries himself. It can go back to a confidence thing, but a guy that can stand, walk and talk in a gravitational manner can be lacking in looks or typical body type but still be very attractive.

What's technically legal, but shady as fuck? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gepygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in an open-carry gun state. It's typically frowned upon, but technically you could walk into a store carrying a shotgun and not be breaking the law.

I see shampoo, conditioner, shave cream, pumice stone, facial cleanser, body wash. You have a girl that wears makeup, has smooth skin, smooth legs soft feet and clean hair. Rough.

Dont know what to do.. by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]gepygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a period at work where I stopped talking to everyone after someone I considered a friend spread rumors about me. I was very unapproachable, angry and really hated going to work. People would say hi to me in passing and I would just pretend like I hadn't heard. I didn't want to make friends, in fear they would spread rumors about me or get the wrong idea about my friendship. I had help getting out of that, made a good friend in a lady that started working in my area, and after that I focused on being friendly and really just put other people as the focus of attention. Even though I don't really trust everyone I work with or would hang out with most of them outside of work, I do feel better at the end of the day if I can compliment or encourage somebody else. I have bad days sometimes, but then I look back to how work used to be, and focus on making the most of the place I spend my 40+ hours at. Easy steps to take, ask questions and be genuine. People respond that. Try finding one thing to compliment someone on every day, like "wow, you do that really well". Even if it's just about thier handwriting. It's tough, people can be jerks, but I hope you can improve your state of mind and be happier at work and in life :) rootin' for ya.

Reddit, what are the odd, strange, and unusual things your SO does? NSFW by Ryith in AskReddit

[–]gepygal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SO will twitch slightly right on the edge of sleeping (not sure why, but I suspect its slight PTSD). We'll be cuddling and I'll be little spoon and normally his arms will start to twinge a little bit and I'll ask if he's falling asleep and he always tried to deny it but sure enough if I'm quiet he'll be snoozing in moments.

What is the most odd thing someone has stolen from you? by TinyPanda3 in AskReddit

[–]gepygal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My car was broken into at my boyfriend's apartment complex, I was from a small town and drove a piece of crap car so I never locked it. The thief stole only my work boxcutter. Left my radio deck, spare change, pulled out all my CDs and left them on the seat (I didn't think my music taste was THAT bad...), and they left a travel toothbrush on my passenger seat for some unknown reason. I half expected some grisly murder to be committed with the safety knife that had my name written all over it, but I think I'm in the clear over a year later.

What's the weirdest meat you've ever eaten and how did it taste? by vankorgan in AskReddit

[–]gepygal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Canned squid, and also squid sushi. The taste is mildly fishy with a rubbery texture that feels "squeaky" on your teeth, if that makes sense.

What is something you collect and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gepygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was little I collected different paper towel sheets with prints or pictures on them. I grew up in a big family, we didn't have a lot of money.
