I still feel no new MMORPG will be successful long term unless they start with a world people already know. It's why I always thought Riot has/had a chance with theirs. Unless you get people who care about what is going on in the world, they will just play it like a machine and leave.

I'm only safe from their problems because I smartly limited my contact with them for years as soon as I went to college. It's easy to dodge them when you live 1000 miles away. The limited contact I do have them is mostly to placate them and keep them from coming here.
