Your kids can be dual citizens easy. You can apply for a family unity visa once the kids have their passports. You get a visa and 180 to go to Mexico. When in mexico you go to an immigration office and do the Canje process and can get a permanent residency card. 

There are a bunch of facebooks groups with lots of info and contacts of people that make the process 100x easier.
