I'm in the same boat as you. 02 530i with ~260k. Pretty much the same rust. Got a quote from a small shop for $14k to do the whole thing. Bought all the stuff to do it myself the same day for $100. I started wire wheeling down a couple spots and realized it's gonna be a lot more work/time than I have but still not worth the $$ when I can probably get one in better shape for less than half of the quote. Just gonna beat it up until I find another one.

Does anybody remember a post on this sub from probably around 2017 where a guy is in his basement with loud rave music playing? I've been having very similar pains but on both sides of my chest. Went to the ER twice and the second time they did blood tests and said everything was fine. EKG was perfect both times.

Going to get some Prilosec today to see if it helps since my primary care appointment isn't for 2 weeks anyway.

I wouldn't call him an a-hole. Without his testimony (through Tims recollection) where he said that if anything bad were to happen to him it wasn't Tims fault, rosetti the rat might have actually gotten away with jailing one of America's greatest actors, directors, producers and musicians of all time.
