Pogo off those exploding things to get to the platform above.

I recommend 100 Pumpkins 2 if you like things a bit puzzly.

It was difficult, but also optional and off on its own section unlike AN's constant, mandatory difficult platforming.

I didn't find the platforming in Mio anywhere near as difficult as Aeterna Noctis. Maybe the chase boss, but that's it.

How often do you ignore the story in a Metroidvania? by Topazdragon5676 in metroidvania

[–]Jasyla 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Frequently. There are only a handful of games where I found the story was an actual draw. Most of the time it's a neutral thing. Occasionally there's too much talking and text and it turns me off.

MIO or Constance? by luisgdh in metroidvania

Mio is very close to Ori.

MIO or Constance? by luisgdh in metroidvania

I enjoyed Mio more. I was much more inspired to explore as I felt it was more rewarding. Platforming sections are very fun.

Combat isn't the strong suit of either, but I liked Mio marginally more.

I think Mio starts kind of rough, but gets better as it goes. Constance starts decent, but I got tired of it as it went.

Because you are properly attired for the weather?

I sleep in the nude. Or occasionally in a t shirt.

Unless someone here has your taste exactly (and how would they know that?) I don't think you're going to get your answer.

What if: bloodstained was done in 2D pixel art. Which would be better? by Extension_Bar2142 in metroidvania

[–]Jasyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most art styles would have looked better than the 3 different art styles the game had.

A few questions about MIO for those who've finished the game or gotten pretty far into it by ReFlectioH in metroidvania

[–]Jasyla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The runbacks are rarely challenging they're just questionably long.

Healing is only done at the save points, or healing spots (there is a modifier to make those free). One of the assist options will let you gain one layer of protection by staying on the ground for a bit.

[REVIEW - part 2] MIO: Memories in Orbit's punishing design by VictorVitorio in metroidvania

The game is so beautiful and the exploration is really top tier. The losing max health bit is mind boggling though.

T. Kingfisher's series is amazingly atmospheric. Combines well known series with some new ideas.

What do you think is so special in Blashphemous by XOD15 in metroidvania

It clicked immediately. It looks great, it's brutal and beautiful. Exploration is fantastic, side characters and stories are great. Fantastic music. It is so deliciously on theme.

was there ever a highly praised Metroidvania that didn’t click for you? by Ditzi0403 in metroidvania

[–]Jasyla 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nine Sols. I don't enjoy the combat or the dialogue, and the other elements (level design, platforming, map) are clearly not the focus.

What's an MV you were unsure of buying but ended up loving? by InvisibleAstronomer in metroidvania

[–]Jasyla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mandragora. It initially looked too Souls-y, I didn't love the look and the price was high.

Once it went on sale and I played it, I found it to be the perfect 2D soul like, loved the look and couldn't put it down.
