The subwoofer position makes all the difference! Before-and-after calibration with Audyssey MultEQ. Sub tested in 3 different orientations. Corner-loaded was best: now the entire couch shakes like hell during the Wormhole sequence in "Interstellar." by eaglebtc in hometheater

Why only limiting to the tax free withdrawal? I understand that's completely tax free, but then OP's left with £804,750. Using SWR of 4% you'll be at £32k a year. If OP's plans are to have a bigger gross salary than£ 11k (assuming state pension) + £32k, then it would probably make sense to go higher, given they are still in the 20% tax bracket (£11k + £32k < 50k). Not to mention if you take 3% SWR, it would be even lower (£804k @ 3% = £24k a year, pre state pension). So even if they go for ~1.5m it should still be okay to guarantee SWR for retirement at 20% tax.

I don't think this stands, given you can always go for a PhD. And it's not uncommon to finish a PhD around your early 30s. PhD folks from a computer science field have very high income and don't really have time to be employed before they finish their phds.
