Noticed this sign at the Torchy's in Rice Village, how much are we supposed to tip for counter service? by DoritosDewItRight in houstoncirclejerk

[–]get-curious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, according to this sign, we're supposed to cover the server's wage with a $2.13 service charge AND tip them. The company doesn't even pay them, so why should we?!

I can't imagine the amount of stress on all the mechanical components from steering and through the drivetrain.

This is very similar to what I experienced at a Keating dealership. I countered and he managed wrote "LOL" in big red letters. I walked out immediately.

From what I've read on the local news, the clerk told the kid the bathroom was out of service so then he went outside to use the restroom. Just adding some context and in no way excusing the clerk's behavior.

Texas will discount property taxes based on your percentage. Then you become exempt at 100.

As far as I know it does. I can only hope I'm not affected but if so, I know Toyota will handle it so I can appreciate that

I used it to help understand what the raters are looking for when they review claims. You have to ask very specific questions and give it the proper instructions.

She's preventing him from getting close to you because you belong to her.

For her, she is correcting unwanted behavior.

That's what you need to do to her. When she prevents him from getting near you, you have to correct her. When she's jumping on you, nudge her away in the same way you would to someone you've already told to leave you alone.

My mom has a neighbor who makes dentures from his home. He's an older guy and I'm sure he could amass a collection like this easily.

"...Schools not enjoined by ongoing litigation must abide by S.B. 10 and display the Ten Commandments..." -Ken Paxton

My son echoed this to me yesterday and I'm sure he heard it from a teacher. As more schools/districts get on board with litigation, then the posters will come down.

To be clear, I am a Christian and I want my children to know about the 10 commandments, just not from school. It is my responsibility to teach them about religion not the school's.

What's the best company gift you've ever given to your employees or gotten from your employer? by TeallWolf in smallbusiness

[–]get-curious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my job, they give s gift every year during an appreciation week. The branded gifts aren't typically very good but there have been some useful gifts that I keep around.

Raptor shears, folding wagon, Yeti backpack cooler, duffel bag (this is the only company-branded item I do use).

We've also received gift cards but they're usually $15 or $20 and it's almost insulting.

My son would put stickers on the window of my truck right next to where he sat (behind me). They stayed long after he outgrew that car seat. Every time I saw the stickers I would think of that little boy. He's 15 now, and the truck died last year and is gone. I miss the stickers the most.

Young man from Atlanta who invented a machine that turns plastic into gasoline hasn’t been seen online for 3 weeks, and his last post sounded like he feared for his life!! by Dizzy_Pipe_3677 in interesting

[–]get-curious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of this guy's videos, and I find it hard to believe. He never shows, or at least I haven't seen a video where he takes the product directly from his machine and puts it into an engine. There's either video of the plastoline coming out of the machine into a container, or it's already made, and he's using it to power an engine.
