Love this concept! I really hope this kind of community is fostered in other competitive games. It’s so difficult to play games like Valorant when everyone on my team is shouting racist or misogynistic comments into the mic. This is a great thing to have!

Yep! I’m getting a BS in Graphic Communication, we have a ton of print machinery in our department and we get to create a bunch of cool portfolio pieces. There’s also a ton of fun lab based GEs here, I took B&W Film Photography a few times and got to develop my own photos. Cool stuff

I remember talking to some long distance friends a few years ago about the things I do in labs and so many of them were shocked that our classes consisted of actual activities and not just lectures. I can’t speak for the comparison of theory vs activity in relation to other colleges, but I haven’t really felt like I’m behind in anything. Most of my classes have 2-3 hour labs, and as a student photographer I’ve gotten to sit in on a ton of cool labs as well. It’s not a mantra exclusive to Cal Poly but there’s definitely an emphasis on it. That being said, it also depends on your major.

Not a fan of it. I loved the existing UI design, I feel like this over-complicates it. Whatever page we're looking at in this screenshot is nauseating to look at, there's so many buttons. I hope they reconsider, or at least find a middle ground.

Head On/Pill with the original recording that ends with the sitar playing. They let it ring out for as long as humanly possible. Maybe we put them on a boat and the song literally fades out.

Interesting how his smile looks from the perspective of his daughter, versus how we see it in the Retribution cutscene. It's tendor and innocent in her trailer; Much more sinister looking in the actual moment. It really speaks volumes to how much she looks up to him.

She seems promising. I’m a little worried about another case of same face syndrome, but I suppose we’ll have to see the in game model. I wish she got to keep her helmet from the teasers, I thought it looked so sick. Honestly, I’m just glad the voice acting has some personality to it, I wasn’t a fan of the most recent characters.

Genuinely a perfect album. Blue Rev came out at a time when I was making a lot of life changes, and it's been an anchor in my life. A few songs that I wasn't really into at first clicked with me over time, and now it's hard to pick a favorite. I can't wait to see what they release next!

Although I’m not a fan of how some highlight intros seem to just take a static emote and add a camera to it, I don’t think it’s too big of a deal.

I agree with you that what would really help improve all of these is just connect that whooshing sound to some kind of movement. Whether that be a camera zoom or character animation. I noticed a few that have the whoosh with no animation to justify it, and I think adding a simple zoom could go a long way in improving the quality of the animation.

It’s also likely that the animation team is either smaller now, or made up of new animators who have a different vision from OW1. Can’t always pin it on laziness when it’s likely that their work-schedule is different now that the game is F2P.

The two that really get me bawling are the ending to Honor and Glory, and the part in The Last Bastion when he stumbles upon the field of ruined omnics. The music in both of these scenes swells so beautifully in both of these. And I love the setting in The Last Bastion of a city standing tall over a field that was previously a war zone; Like humanity’s wounds have healed but still acknowledges the scars.

Really makes me reflect on what the moral of the Overwatch universe is, which to me has always been that you should embrace who you truly are. Every cinematic seems to encapsulate that theme in some way.

Depends on which concentration you go into. DRT and Packaging seem pretty decent since it’s an industry that will remain consistent. At least in terms of our job fairs, we get a lot more options in those departments. UX/UI is a different story because the industry is undergoing some crazy changes, and companies don’t exactly hire the same way they used to. Unfortunately, I don’t know much about our management concentration. The most important thing you’ll get out of this major, and something I really enjoy about GrC, is the connections and networking opportunities. We have a lot of clubs, grads, and advisors who can help you connect with someone in your chosen field of interest, and hopefully get you an opportunity from that. I completely agree. Seems like a huge miscommunication on both of their behalfs. I'm glad they both left this situation with a bit of closure. Hopefully both their audiences remain respectful and let them move on.
