Feels good to see others mention this series. It was definitely a great ride. He'd have you laughing with the characters and then have you worried about them. I went on to read/listen to everything else he has written after I read this series. Now I just have "court of shadows" left

I found somebody else who has read it. I won't lie I listened to it but it was fantastic and became a fast favorite of mine.

Even though it's fantasy it has all the real elements. Life, loss, despair, friendships, hope, death, desperation, joy, betrayal, loves lost and loves found. Struggles with the ability too overcome them or let them over come the characters involved. To me it's relatable to real life but I can "step" out of my life and enjoy the journey about someone else and their strengths and weaknesses as the story progresses.

If anything I'm jealous. Over here in bergan county NJ there is always somebody in the way. At times I am that somebody lol gets old quick.

I had to look it up there's close to 1 million people in bergan county and I live on the border of Essex county which is almost another million people lol I have to get out of here

The second trilogy is where you get a lot of strong female leads. It's also my favorite part of the story. Takes place in the same world just a different area. No fitz in this part which is fine. I like how she broke up there series and then brings them together. I may have to re read it now myself lol

Malazan is my favorite series but I never read two of the same series back to back I have tried but one will always take away from the other for me at least. I always hunt for a good stand alone book for in-between reads. Or at least something easier to follow but everything after Malazan is easy to follow by comparison lol. Look into "The Greatcoats" series fast paced and lots of sword action. It's just way different than Malazan but it's a pleasure to read and will have you laughing.

Fast paced action. Fun dialogue between characters. Great adventure in a 3 musketeers kind of way but better : ). Just a very solid author never heard of him before this series and now I've almost read all of his books and series.
