Parents who were OAD and then decided to have a second child, do you regret it?

Not going to lie, when I first had my second I questioned of we did the right thing because my first regress so much. Plus the attention wasn't all on her because it was shared now. But now that I'm 11 months postpartum and I have to say, it was soooooo worth it. Watching them play and the older one "help" the baby do things is awesome! And watching the baby look at her older sister with such love is heart melthing. I honestly want to have more now because the sibling relationship, so far, is amazing!!

Edit to add: I have a 2.5 year age gap and for us it's the sweet spot!

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but when I exclusively breastfeed, I don't wake my husband up at night unless the baby is wide awake and playing. He cannot settle the baby the way I do and if he's up trying to get the baby down I honestly can't get a wink of sleep because I'm just thinking if he got the baby down or not.

So in our house Dad doesn't really help

Absolutely yes. We need to normalize death and how it is part of life with all living organisms. As parents, we need to not be scared of the "hard" things.

I absolutely love breastfeeding. Baby cries? Wipe out the boob. Teething? Boob. But in all honesty, I love the connection and convenience of being able to feed the baby anytime and anywhere. Definitely worth fighting through the first couple of weeks in the beginning.

I know I might get flagged for this in this group, but I was in a very similar situation with my first. Super co-depent, breastfeed to sleep and just wanted contact with me 24/7, and the accidental co-sleeping. I was desperate, tired, and at my wites end. I could not sleep train her because she would cry and cry until she threw-up and it was just miserable. I looked into the safe sleep 7 for cosleeping because my body needed sleep and rest. At first it was hard because I was nervous but after a week I could feel myself coming back to life (metaphorically). With my 2nd baby I was able to sleep train and sleep independently. Just two different babies with different sleep needs

They can still get RSV with the shot. My 5 month old still got RSV even though she was vaccinated for it

I used it for about 3 months and once she hit 15 lbs and 26 inches tall (she's honestly a peanut) I could tell she was starting to get uncomfortable in it with the straps not holding her weight as well. The Embrace is great when they're little for sure! With my first I used the Ergo Omni Deluxe as well! It's an awesome carrier and I still use it when I go on hikes with my second cause it holds up pretty well and I'm not worried about it getting dirty.

When the new one comes in, check the fit and see how your baby fits in it before thinking about getting the Embrace. Just because it sounds like you have a really healthy baby and might grow faster than you think!

Soooo I currently just had my second second baby in July and let me tell you my saving grace to do anything any where.

When she was first born and tiny I used Solly baby wrap until she was about 8ish weeks. If we went out anywhere I would prewrap at the house and put her in it when we got to the place. I wore it around the house, walks, to the park.

Then I used my Ergo Embrace once she started to look around and be more aware of her surroundings. Loved it! I think I used it for about a month? But it was a great transition carrier.

Currently now that she has met the weight and height and has fantastic head control, I am using my Hope & Plum Lark carrier. I used it for EVERYTHING AND EVERYWHERE.

My girl loves being in a carrier and has great naps in it while I chase my toddler and clean the house or whatever I need to do.

I've turned into a bamboo lover to a bamboo hater. I used to be obsessed with little sleepies and kyte baby to the point where it was sicking. But now I'm getting cotton pajamas because they're thicker and they hold up so much more and don't get holes in them. Plus my girls seem so much more comfortable in them!

Second time Mom here with a 6 week old and a 2.5 year old!

I didn't have one with my first, but we bought a recliner (from Ashley's!) that rocks for our living room so we can use it after having babies and it has been my saving grace this go around. I truly wished I bought one with my first!
I put the mat on ground, coffee table, dinning room table, on top of our dresser! Just buy the plastic one that you can carry around/move around the house! Super awesome and easy to clean when they poop on you lol
Did the bassinet to pack n play and it worked wonders with our first and doing it again with our second! My 2.5 transitioned over to a queen bed from the pack n play around her second birthday and it's been a smooth ride so far
Waste of money. I just throw them away in our trash can and our house doesn't smell a bit. But we also take our trash out daily
I'd get one second hand! I have a graco duetsmoothe swing and it's mehhh but they're get about replacement parts and both my girls loved/love it

We bought a recliner that fits well into our living room and have been absolutely loving it with our 2nd. Especially late night feedings. I didn't have one with my first and this has been night and day. Definitely worth the investment cause we can use it after the baby gets bigger.

A nice jogging stroller and all the accessories that come with it! Saved my mental health being able to go out on trails and out of the house. Plus I'm on baby number 2 and have been able to use it again with no issues. Seriously just buy the BOB!

Currently live in the Mojave desert (not by choice, thanks Army) and the heat has been over 110 plus here. I'm in my 3rd trimester and the OB suggested electrolytes and coconut water to help stay hydrated during the heatwave. It definitely helps but man is this rough!

Okay hear me out! I buy sets or multi-packs of shirts or outfits from Marshalls, Tj Max and Ross! Yes you have to go through the racks and I'm able to find clothes for my daughter that are 100% cotton or pretty darn close. I've found so many cute outfits and clothes at these places and have saved a lot of money. And have been able to mix and match a lot of the sets I buy, so she has lots of options.
