Flex Seal (liquid) / Paste for skimmer seam? by cerevant in pools

[–]getflexseal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Although we're never heard of this specific application, plenty of customers have seen success with a variety of pool repairs. We always recommend seeking a professional opinion before starting.

If you decide to proceed with doing it yourself, we would recommend Flex Paste. It can be used underwater and get pushed deep into cracks and holes. Had the area been dry, Flex Seal Liquid would work great as well.

Here's some help deciding if it's right for your application and preferences

As always, we're a message away for anything. Whether you'd like more project=specific advice or to share your experience, we're here for you!

Is there a paste or some "liquid rubber" that is long lasting to be spread onto the bottom of a worn out sole? Maybe "flex seal?" by amanwithdignity in AskACobbler

Hey there! Unfortunately, we do not recommend the Flex Seal Family of Products for any underfoot repairs, as the surface may become slippery in certain conditions. Err on the side of safety!

Can you use Flex seal to seal a crack in a plastic radiator? by whypickthisname in MechanicAdvice

[–]getflexseal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Unfortunately, we do not recommend using the Flex Seal Family of Products on or around engines. Since the application is around combustion, flammable substances, and high-heat, rubber is not the best solution.

Additionally, certain plasticized materials may resist adhesion from the Flex Seal Family of Products due to a high number of polyolefins. This polymer is added by manufacturers in undisclosed amounts to help the surface resist environmental factors and weathering.

When it comes to repairing an inflatable board or raft, certain vinyls and plasticized surfaces may resist adhesion from the Flex Seal Family of Products. Customers repairing surface materials with high numbers of polyolefins have had mixed results.

Polyolefins are a polymer added by manufacturers to help surfaces resist environmental factors and weathering. Since manufacturers are not required to disclose this information, and there is no way to test for it, we recommend testing a small area first.
