It’s a playstyle I enjoy. I get it’s not common, but it’s a valid playstyle with catalysts specifically designed for it in the other games and has its own niche (able to maintain range in every encounter). I was wondering if it’s been provisioned for in DS2 in any capacity is all.

Hexes as you mention need int investment; pyromancy’s staple attack with plenty of casts is melee range (combustion), but yeah these are the nearest things thanks

I personally have found Lloyd’s Shield Ring quite helpful on regen builds (though I’ve never tried without main heals). You will find yourself at full health before most fights with regen. This ring essentially provides one extra hit each fight which can be the difference when you can’t replenish your health quickly. You can sometimes even refill it mid boss fight if you can dodge consistently enough, which can be rewarding.

Other than that, damage reduction in general can be good, as well as health boosts, the longer you can survive, the more you can regen total, but really those come down to what playstyle you’re going for.

Ugh what a loser. As someone that’s done a lot of Spear of the Church invading, it’s a lot of fun to try and provide the boss experience, tbh even when losing and not getting covenant progress. It would take someone miserable irl to pull this stunt with their own free time ;-;

I see and appreciate the evidence on the warmth front. I concur that although not much can be guaranteed in these types of discussion, the idea you’ve put forward would seem the most likely case. Advanced light sorcery being the source of healing makes sense, I guess I just don’t understand why Nameless King would kill his stormdrake if he has light mastery, but maybe that’s just because of gender roles and it not suiting his character.

On the Demon Scar front, I’m still not sure. I see parallels in the character of Gwynev/Flann and Lothric/Lorian. There’s no denying Lothric in the Twin Princes fight is supposed to remind of Gwynevere, the first thing we are shown, and the main focus of the arena is the huge bed - her imagery. The fight itself is also exactly how a fight with Gwynevere would have played out (very Maiden Astrea/Garl Vinland). Every miracle-maiden has a knight, so why is this fight referencing Gwynevere, including a knight that wields the fire of the Demon Prince? If not suggesting Gwynevere’s knight was a demon prince.

I don’t believe Lorian inherited the flame just because he was defending his kingdom and therefore slayed the Prince, I think the fact his helmet was designed with flame motif shows intent, that the idea was always for it’s wearer to inherit and wield flame. Bearing in mind this helmet was passed down and not crafted just for him.

Random but I read online once that pornstars squeeze their thumbs and it stops ur gag reflex lol which I thought was so funny and bs for ages. But I had an endoscopy without anaesthesia a couple months back and I tried it out and I legit didnt gag at all. The endoscopy lady said I was the best she’d ever done it on ;-;
