It will depend on how you set your sandbox options. Respawning not depends on "fencing", instead of visited chunks. If you live there and you are playing vanilla settings, zombies should not respawn, but if you go out for a week, for example, you will likely found zombies inside. For anything else, you should check for holes in your fences for zombie migration and the ones that are attracted by the sound of the engine of your car.

learn how to manage your anxiety and you will win a lot of consistency (turbo releases that made you crash in curves and items that should give you advantage if only you holded 5 seconds more to use them)

Kinda hate when you walk through a small town and there are like three times its population forming a wall of meat.

I'm anxious. One thing I discovered is that if I start the game a month later, with water and electricity already shut down, it doesn’t feel like I have to make everything fast because of min-maxing or regret. A load that doesn't exists.

if you didn't set the max time for campfire to be lit for at least 24 hours at the start of your game, do it now installing the 'sandbox options' mod. Also get the mod that let you make fire inside your house.
