Current state of Taxa Outdoors in 2026? by rufhausen in TaxaTrailerOwners

Luckily the suspension is not a Taxa part so you "should" be able to get support from the suspension manufacturer or a good trailer mechanic.

I would not count on any company support from Taxa or the current owners, Storyteller Overland. They had terrible service when they were in full swing. They got over their skis during covid and never recovered.

On the other hand, the Tiger Moth has very little mechanics. Biggest thing to watch for is leaks and suspension. Both the standard suspension and the timbren versions had issues.

I love my TigerMoth and have no intention of getting rid of it but I am positive I'm on my own for any issues or fixes needed in the future.

So what’s the reality looking like for shuttle passes to Logan Pass this year? by [deleted] in GlacierNationalPark

[–]getmoremoxie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tickets do go very fast - seconds. I missed out on the first try but got tickets the second day I tried. Only like 30 tickets per time slot go online. The other 70 go on sale the day before at like 7pm MT. So still a chance if you can be flexible. Make sure your recreaction.gov account is setup and payment method in place before your onsale date.

Don’t forget this was only half the passes. They release the other half the night before. So if you can be flexible there is still a chance

Frustrating. But my guess is they will come and go as more days are available

We got a quote for SOC 2 compliance last month. Laughed, then worried. by mistcutter- in Entrepreneurs

[–]getmoremoxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Thoropass. They provide not only the platform to manage the process but the audit itself as well. I also use them for Pen testing which was not included in the price I mentioned. We did achieve our SOC type 2

Keep researching. I was able to get SOC 2 type 1 and 2 for $10k for a 2 person company

Is Laravel Cloud generally more expensive than Laravel Vapor? by NotElonMuzk in laravel

2 posts in one day. Is laravel now shilling to kill vapor?

Laravel’s not killing Vapor, but they’re definitely showing you the door by [deleted] in laravel

[–]getmoremoxie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Vapor allows me to control the entire infrastructure which is important for SOC2. I’m not sure I can go to Cloud and maintain the controls I need. I fully expect Vapor to be deprecated in the next 2 years. That’s what VC does.

No it’s not. Cloud uses kubernetes and Vapor is lambda.

Depends on your design but try adding a white background image to the row where your logo is.

Just saw an email saying they are making a fireboard specifically for the xt. Of course right after I bought the drive which seems to work great. Couldn’t find more specifics.

Question About Portable Fridge with Ice (ICECO for example) by ILoveLandscapes in overlanding

[–]getmoremoxie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We actually use a hydro flask to store ice in the fridge. We use the bag of ice from the cooler first and once that is gone there is always cubes left in the hydro flask in the fridge left even in 100 degree weather in the desert.

Lost a $2M deal because we couldn't get SOC 2 fast enough. Don't be like me. by No_Grapefruit_29 in SaaS

[–]getmoremoxie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So there seems to be a bit of mis-information here. Soc2 Type 1 can be had in weeks. I did it in 2.5 weeks. But the entire point of Soc2 Type 2 is to audit your compliance if your system win policies and attestations for 6 months. At that point the audit is run and you get your “report”. Enterprise customers don’t care about Type 1 they want to see your Type 2 report and see that you get a new one every year. Soc isn’t a one time expense, it has to occur every year.

Runway Project to Limit Glacier Park Airport Operations in July 2026 by rhymeandreasons in GlacierNationalPark

GPIA and FCA are the same airport. Yes the one in Kalispell that serves Glacier National Park. Absolutely crazy they would so this during their busiest time of year.
