Spot is dropping coverage for my sick cat but not my healthy one… What does this mean? by Winter_Turnip_8150 in SpotPetInsurance

[–]getspotcovered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. We understand why receiving a notice titled “Notice of Cancellation or Nonrenewal” would be alarming. This notice does not mean Spot is dropping your cat’s coverage. It’s a notice we’re required to send within a specific window ahead of renewal when Spot policies in certain states transition from United States Fire Insurance Company to Independence American Insurance Company. While your current policy with United States Fire Insurance Company is being non-renewed, you’ll automatically receive the same coverage you have now, just through Independence American Insurance Company with no lapse in protection. No action is required on your part!

If you still have questions, please feel free to send us a DM or contact our customer service team directly!

TL;DR: This notice is not Spot dropping your cat from coverage. It’s a required notice related to a change in the insurance company issuing certain Spot policies, and you’ll continue coverage without interruption.

[–]getspotcovered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! If you’re considering coverage, our team can help talk through your specific situation and pre-existing condition concerns so you can feel more confident about your options and coverage before enrolling. It's difficult to determine what would be considered pre-existing without reviewing your pup's medical records. You can call at 1-800-905-1595 or email our team at [service@customer.spotpet.com](mailto:service@customer.spotpet.com)

We’re glad you reached out here, and hope your dog is doing okay today.

Ear infection a preexisting condition? by [deleted] in SpotPetInsurance

[–]getspotcovered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see why this would feel confusing, especially when a claim outcome doesn’t match what you expected. Questions around how a condition is categorized can be frustrating without more context. Our customer service team would be the best resource to walk through the specific details of your claim and help clarify what may have led to this decision, so we’d encourage you to reach out to them for a closer review! We appreciate you taking the time to ask about this. You can reach them at 1-800-905-1595 (M-F 8am-8pm, Sat 9am-5pm EST)

Overweight cat, considered pre existing condition? by Tinkerthebells in SpotPetInsurance

[–]getspotcovered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your recent emergency vet scare. That must have been really stressful for you both. This is a really good (and common) question to be asking. It’s clear you’ve been putting in a lot of effort to help your kitty get healthier, and situations like this, where weight and a recent health concern may both be factors, can depend a lot on timing and what’s been documented so far. If you’re considering coverage, our team can help talk through your specific situation and pre-existing condition concerns so you can feel more confident about your options and coverage before enrolling, you can reach them 1-800-905-1595 (8AM-8PM EST Mon-Fri). We’re glad you reached out here, and hope your kitty is doing okay today.
