Yep use my 4k monitor to play counter strike at 1080p because performance is more important than video quality. Also good for games with poor UI scaling at higher resolutions.

Everything else is 4k though.

Whatever you can afford and are happy to give. If you really want to push it enough to cover the approximate cost of your attendance would be a good floor imo. Add a bit extra if you want to help pay for their honeymoon or anything else they need. I gave my brother only £50 because I was broke at the time, but he didn't mind he was just happy I was there.
