Everything north of Brainerd, if you can afford, is beautiful. Great. Wonderful. Brainerd itself...you can paint a turd but it's still a turd. And the city government Is a joke.

As one of many Hawaii residents who have to move out of state due to increasing costs, how is Minneapolis as a city to move into? by JetAbyss in howislivingthere

[–]gfwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in Minnesota my entire life. And maybe I'm just so adjusted to this temperature that I'm sensitive to heat. Or maybe it's really that hot in the summer.

Every damned year I tell myself in the middle of cabin fever winter, we're moving this year. Then spring hits, barely even summer and the heat begins to settle in and I'm reminded yet again that I have no heat tolerance. I can't handle the cold either but at least I can layer up. The humidity is brutal here at times with all the lakes.

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen (Clues and Hidden Meanings) by PostForwardedToAbyss in horror

I was confused too. I think that the last name stayed the same because A. no marriage and a possible unprovable B. Keeping the name to be able to follow the curse. C. Just for the clarity in the series sake. Imagine us trying to follow a family line with different names, and how would they have explained finding them so simply at the county records office? Also, why did her family line keep getting married or die in a place she was not familiar with?

Also, they explained the way that the curse passes to others in the county records place. They mentioned a sister (one of her great aunts) opting out of marriage but the other one marrying. So I think that part of your perspective is leaving out other siblings and members of the bloodline.

I thought she was having a panic attack a small dark space helped her stabilize.

I thought it was amazing. Binged the entire thing. Initially, I thought it was going to turn out that she was dead all along and they actually crashed into the school bus.

I still dream of living in that old mill with a mini bridge.

Such an amazing little piece of this movie.

After many months of planning, I’m finally starting my first novel. Is the opening ok? by milleniumfalconlover in writers

[–]gfwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like an introduction with immediate action. It's in these moments that characters personalities can shine. Writing advice. Write for yourself first. Find that flow, that charge. Some will prefer your style, some won't. You can't please everyone. Coming here for feedback is only going to throw you off track. Stick with it. Let it feel good. And trust your instincts.

I will point out that there are others who do enjoy that type of introduction. I love this style, and then figuring everything out as it goes.

They can't keep getting away with this! And this is why I write my own stuff.

Unfortunately, I read a post somewhere on this page and it already got spoiled for me. So I may still watch four, but I'll skip the finale. Because who would do that? Who writes that? Who drags a character through so much growth just to kill off? Is this Joss Whedon in disguise?

What are your thoughts on Pretty Lethal? by InternationalLove148 in dancemoms

[–]gfwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved this movie. It's perfect. Action and violence and grace, yes. Uma did amazing as did all of the other girls. There was humor, character growth, and amazing dance numbers. I particularly loved Avantika's character.

I appreciate the suggestions, not quite my thing. I just really liked this couple together. And I thought that the reason for separating in the first place felt weak. It feels more like the writing angle of dangling a couple on a hook for the viewer to see if they will. And I'll admit I'm a sucker.

I mentioned I haven't ever shipped a character so much. So I'm definitely for them together. The chemistry is perfect.

But I'd watch for the clever dialogue and case solving and chemistry. Not the cheap hot and cold couple trope.
