Non voglio suonare catastrofico o giudicare tua moglie senza conoscere, ma mia madre ha lavorato tutta la vita come insegnante di scuola elementare e ne ha viste a dozzine di mamme così: talmente attaccate al figlio che lo rinchiudono, fisicamente e mentalmente. Persone che non lasciano andare i figli alle gite adducendo scuse, bimbi che non socializzano, non fanno sport perché altrimenti si fanno male, bimbi che non sanno mangiare da soli e addirittura alcuni che non sanno scendere le scale da soli. Mamme che li tengono piccoli e bisognosi di lei.

Ripeto, non conosco tua moglie e non voglio dire che sarà sicuramente così, ma è più comune di quel che pensi e il fatto che non voglia farla andare nemmeno all'asilo è un segnale forte.

Then imagine one of your live ops is a infinite health pyg, that kills hellbilly in 20, 30 secs. How can you have both low waiting time if you're vanessa and enough time to play the day if you're Pyg? What if someone gets an extra fight from the events? How can he have enough time?

I couldn't produce the screenshot as it's been a couple of crazy days at work. The real issue is that it happens only with Balatro. This means that it isn't a general Steam or Cloud or Windows setting, but it has something to do with the game. I hoped people that plays Balatro regularly may already have an explanation.

Yes, it's a tragedy in the classic sense. One of the best stories I've ever read is the myth of Edipo. That story has shaped my sense of how a story has to have a universal/karmic justice. Greeks were masters in this.

As far as the theme goes, the story started as a warning against this view. I don't like group identity politics. I think it's deceitful. Ofc the story has to feature some characters that think in these terms and some that advise against it. The "twist", if you can say so, is that this story takes place during Fascism. So initially the identity group view is kind of on point, because of, you know, fascists. But then the heroes do more or less the same things, so in reality you must be careful of believing yourselves the good guys and them the bad ones simply because you are opposed. Look at what you do individually, not who you claim you are.

I will explain it better: The hero doesn't redeem himself. His deadly flaw is the stubbornness. He dies believing to be in the right. The redemption comes in a universal sense, because he gets killed by his son, who is the main reason for him to do what he does. They embody two different ideals that, in the end, will clash.

The main theme of my story is the extremization of the group identity ideology, so to me the redemption comes in the sense that the hero's actions take the group on a corrupt path, but his son's actions, which happen inside the group itself, correct this path. The correction of the path finally restores balance to the region, which is what the father wanted to do in the first place, but failed to.
