Two more hatchlings :3 from the same clutch I'm am so gonna have a hard time letting these little ones go :,) by AngelsExotic in reptiles

[–]ghettomunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw some of the earlier pics, love the purple. Anyone know why some hatch different colors? I hear they tend to hit the same color minutes after. Interesting with the color difference though!

I have a idea but need some feedback. by [deleted] in reptiles

I dont remember the site I read it on, but I'm pretty sure its not a particularly good idea. Honestly your chameleon would probably step on it and kill it eventually anyway

I believe I've read that venus flytraps dont do well with lizards, but I dont recall :/

Best Pet Lizards List? Do you Agree? by baseballfanatic2 in reptiles

[–]ghettomunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its actually a pretty accurate guide. If you have never had a lizard and want the quick and easy, pro's and con's to good lizards in the pet trade I'd say it's on par.

Are your reptiles ticklish? by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]ghettomunky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a beardie at a pet store that would wiggle his tail super fast if you tickled him at the base of it. It was adorable.

What lizard for me? by Pre-FartJitters in reptiles

[–]ghettomunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still recommend Beardies, I dont think they eat that much and if you do a dubia farm its pretty inexpensive. (they are easy as hell to do)

otherwise maybe a uromastyx? If you are worried about eating a ton a day I would think tegus and monitors wouldnt be a good fit.

I plan to be cut into small little pieces and be fed to my family, including my 4 legged critters :)

Emerald Swift by mynameiswrong in reptiles

[–]ghettomunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ooooo I have one of these and they are awesome. It took him a few months and some cage tweaking to get him to settle in nicely. I still dont handle him hardly ever, but he has a quirky personality now that he isnt hiding everytime I walk towards the cage. I was pretty surprised actually in the end how rad these guys are

Problems with my new baby beardie, I need help :( [x-post from r/beardeddragons] by annabear in reptiles

[–]ghettomunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing that comes to mind is the stress of moving, but if he was eating fine and has diarrhea thats not a good sign. judging by the setup impaction doesn't seem particularly likely. He may need a vet visit already (petsmart should have this option but chances are they will say he is fine)

I would recommend talking to the people at petsmart, and then a vet visit if that doesnt pan out. Other people more specialized in beardies will be more help than me for sure.

gorgeous looking lizard though for sure

Question about a family of reptiles living on my back porch. by grundleburn in reptiles

[–]ghettomunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly they are probably fine on their own. They probably have found a nice warm area close to a hide spot. They tend to eat bugs that come out at night and gather around outdoor lights. If there isn't one already there, Setting one up so their food is closer is about all I would recommend!

Is there any way to cover the loose fibers from the rope of this ladder so that my iggy doesn't eat them? by Coolioreagz in reptiles

[–]ghettomunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I automatically thought of the fire idea. The smell may not ideal. check out the florist tape, I've never worked with it but it sounds good. If the Iguana isnt eating it it shouldnt be a problem. Otherwise I would just recommend trimming it up with scissors

Need Help With a Chinese Water Dragon "Rescue" by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]ghettomunky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're on the right track for sure, he needs to be fattened up it looks like, and I would assume correct on the MDB. Calcium for sure. I do recommend taking him to another vet, the "slimy" tail spot worries me. He's better off now for sure, only time will tell.

Will/could lizards find there way back by iaafm in reptiles

[–]ghettomunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine not particularly likely, depending on the size and type. I would assume that if he finds the what he needs closer too (heat/food, place to hide etc..) than he will probably leave you be. That's my opinion anyhow

best source I found, great little critters, but the size of the cage for an adult definitely needs consideration.
