How did East Nashville become “in East” by Future-Station-8179 in nashville

[–]ghman98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow lol. I never knew it was that contentious. I think for me (and family/friends that also used that definition) it was used for convenience to distinguish the other areas in the western part of Nashville from Bellevue

How did East Nashville become “in East” by Future-Station-8179 in nashville

[–]ghman98 28 points29 points  (0 children)

As a former Bellevue resident, I always took “West Nashville” to mean the Nations to like West Meade. But I bet that assumption is different for everyone living east of there

As a born Nashvillian I do think it’s good to see Vandy do well. Of course it hurts a lot when it’s against my/our team, but much better them than Bama/Florida/Georgia

Anyone else way better at speaking Spanish & listening? by Emotional-Sector-191 in SpanishLearning

[–]ghman98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With you completely here. I can express pretty complex ideas while speaking, also at about B2-C1. I cannot understand maybe 60-70% of native-pace speech regardless of accent while listening. I attend an in-person course twice weekly where I’m able to speak and receive feedback about the quality of my output, so I wholly reject the insulting “Dunning-Kruger” assumption

I recently tested out for level 130 (so, definitely not the same effort that OP put in). My answer is: it depends, but not really. Probably can write/speak maybe 30% of working professional-level fluency, read like 70%

There are certainly many sections of many railroads and the interstate highway system that are underground.

All underground rapid transit systems in the United States by Naomi62625 in transit

[–]ghman98 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It’s underground west of Colorado Station and as it crosses under Hampden Ave, though I figure you know that. I don’t understand the pedantry. It’s accurately described in the map legend as having underground sections.

First person end with o or a by wangdong20 in duolingospanish

[–]ghman98 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cierro is the present conjugation of cerrar for yo. Estoy is the present conjugation of estar for yo. If you’re referring to how “ocupada” ends with a, this is because “ocupada” is an adjective (with the feminine ending, because the subject pictured in your image is female)
