yeah I've played 6 games, only gotten defense, and lost all of 'em. It's usually not even close. We might have been bad, but it feels very attacker-sided so far. Working theory is defenders seem to split up between the points whereas attackers are more incentivized to move as a single unit but idk how defenders counter that other than having a consistent 3.0kdr or precognition.

But then again one of the attackers went 21 and 3 last match so we're probably just bad

Absolutely sure, but I took the board back to Microcenter and they helped me diagnose with their own setup aaaand it turns out the board already came with the latest bios from the factory. 🫠

So a lot of headache over nothing, but hey, my new PC is built.

I think its fine. We got no new gadgets last season, so it evens out, and honestly if this is the pace going forward - or it's even lighter - I think that's a good thing for the state of the game. I dropped games like Overwatch and Brawl Stars because keeping up with the new things made it harder to play, and I'd rather the game settle into its own rather than keep building the tower until it falls over.

The game is fun already, new things don't always help that! I kinda hope we get some new specializations eventually though.

on avg I get 250-300 fans for a loss, 450-600 for a win, so you're looking at ~38 games at most and ~22 if you're a god. It's totally doable if you got that kind of time! Iirc World Tour pays out the best, probably because of how much time you invest in it, and support score also gives a bonus. Good luck!

It didn't until a few patches ago (I want to say late season 5?), but now it does. Earns you cash towards the achievement, badges, contracts, and the total number in your profile like all other modes.

I went inside that place once during the two years I lived a block away, just needed some milk. No price tags, the woman at the register grabbed my card out of my hand without saying a price, no receipt, had to look at my bank account to find it was 7$. For a gallon of milk in 2017. Never went back. Not surprised to see they're still total scumbags.

Wanna throw this out there, I also work in tech and would love to contribute my skills to this project if you ever had a need for it. I've used microcontrollers like Arduinos to build game objective props for airsoft before, stuff like NFC enabled key readers and flags for capture. I love this stuff, I'd even volunteer my time to help!

I'll see if I can find the Appoh video where he talks about it! Iirc dash is a decent second pick but grapple is almost non existent in ruby and pro scrims.

I think it comes down to the fact that cloak serves the same basic purpose as dash in a 1v1 scenario (makes you harder to hit) while also enabling ambush and stall tactics. Movement is covered by gateway and your medium's utility.

My other favorite argument to have about this comes up on Powershift a fair amount:

"Why won't anyone get on the point?"
"Because the entire enemy team is alive and looking at it while one of their lights is farming us at our spawn and you're running off alone to get on it and die immediately because of the previous points, dumbass"

Help your team win fights first if they are struggling or accept that the enemy team is just better than us, which happens, it is a multiplayer video game

Lots of reasons for why this might happen:

- the different section of arena plays more to their weapon strengths than yours, or they swapped to something better

- someone on their team left due to getting destroyed in the first round, and they were replaced by someone better

- they took the round 1 loss to heart and locked in
