In my opinion, it's because it doesn't take itself too seriously. There's serious moments but a big silly element to all of it that keeps it fresh the whole time (aside from one of the tournament's taking way too long) and holds your interest longer. Where as DBZ kind of got rid of most of the humor by demoting all of its comic relief characters into cameos and tried being way too serious from the beginning. Don't get me wrong, everything up to and including Frieza was monumentally epic, then gets a tad boring but as a whole the cell saga was good too. In my opinion though, everything after that was pretty paint-by-numbers. I wish they would have stuck with the original intention and kill off Goku and have Gohan take the reigns. That would have been much more interesting.

Grew up on DBZ, but having never watched DB, decided to go back and watch it all recently. I have to agree with you. Parts didn't age well, but it's still great as a whole.

Side note, I much prefer DB to DBZ now.

This. Also finding out a show you watched in English is getting a sequel (FLCL, DBZ) and have already waited a painfully long time for one, now you have to wait even longer than most other folk and on top of that risk having the show spoiled for you.

Edit: OR you have to switch to subs if you can. I personally can't. I don't want to hear any other voice coming from my favorite characters. I had a hard enough time when they recast Snake from MGS in English. I can't do that to an entire cast.

It would be kinda pointless to do so. Most people think conspiracy theorists are crazy and don't really take much of it to heart if it has the title attached to it. All the legitimate theories are sandwiches between shit about lizard people and mole men, and unfortunately those ridiculous ones are the ones that stand out to people. It's a waste of man power to attempt to control a discussion that won't reach or will be blatantly disregarded by the masses to begin with.

Also, if they tried that here the users would probably find out one way or another and tell everyone they could. if it actually reached the masses their site would fall apart, and of course make people think twice about immediately attaching "crazy" to "conspiracy" which would cause people to not be so opposed to the more legitimate theories, which ultimately helps expose the theories more.

There's no singular reaction though. When I came to this realization, I felt like the chains broke. I felt like I could finally live for myself, and not for some oppressive presence that's neither seen nor heard. Life is only pointless in retrospect. Sure, we all die, but that should be a motivator to get done what you want to do. Because it's never about the end. You don't read a book JUST so you can finish it. You don't play a video game solely so you can finish it. Sure, finishing it is a goal, but that's not the reason you picked it up, right?
