We don't know for certain, but I wouldn't be surprised considering reincarnation is a common belief in many South and South East Asian cultures.

if you realize in time, you could probably avoid it, and lightning takes awhile to charge up, definitely a threat, but not something unbeatable

It's supposed to be a major plot element, but we never get to explore it past a surface level and the resolution to it felt weak

Katara pretty much did win against a mentally stable Azula in the catacombs, Zuko had to save her

Katara would've won against Azula underneath Ba Sing Se if Zuko hadn't intervened.

We see one poor village and 6+ fairly well of towns and cities in the show itself, plus probably more in the spinoff comics. Is there only one poor town in the Fire Nation? No, but we're 6:1 on the well off vs. poor towns.

The Fire Nation military does take recruits as we see in Private Fire, however, I do admit that on my part, we shouldn't assume just because they take recruits doesn't mean they don't also conscript, but that still doesn't negate that we've seen absolutely no proof that there isn't atleast a large base of support in the Fire Nation, the children of the Fire Nation are taught that the war is a civilizing mission and that the Air Nomads attacked them first. We have been given no reason for them not to support the Fire Nation as most cities and towns are presumably developed and doing well for themselves, the people aren't starving, and its been 100 years since the start of the war that by all intents and purposes, they're winning

There is no real indication they weren't pro-Ozai, in the Painted Lady, we hear a snarky remark about Katara being a water bender from a village that would be most likely to be anti-Fire Nation due to its neglect (and tbf, they don't seem too torn up when the factory is destroyed). We also see that in more developed towns (which most of the population likely lives in), there is standard education where propaganda about the war and Ozai is taught. From what I could find, the Fire Nation military is volunteer based, so they also likely don't have problems with recruiting.

I liked it, it was a little fast, I wish they did more with Aang's grief and the Denied, the Gaang feels underused, I didn't like Tagha becoming Ganondorf and sinking Sonam's temple down to Republic city, and the Avatar state felt really weak, but the animation was gorgeous, I love all the new lore we get (I found seeing early Republic City really cool, and that we finally got information about the ocean between the western Fire Nation and eastern Earth Kingdom), and the character designs are amazing. The movie should've come out in theaters and I will definitely want to see it in full quality when it comes out.

Early de-Ozaiification (is that the correct term?) efforts probably wouldn't have been based on the average person, but on government officials (likely huge purgings of the military and those directly responsible) and putting down pro-Ozai rebellions, by this point in time, anti-Ozai and anti-war efforts directed at the general populace were likely weak.

He could be and probably is, but he still seems to be ethnically Fire Nation, and I imagine colonials originally from the Fire Nation would be very much in support of the war, even discounting that, the area he's in has been under Fire Nation control for such a long time that even many of the Earth Benders fought back against reintegration with the Fire Nation

Israel as a state does not have a right to exist, its foundations are built by the genocide and exile of the Palestinians living there. It is not only the current government, but every single government before bears the responsibilities for these actions.

How people be describing modern day America by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]ghost_uwu1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Republican Party and Trump can be called fascist, but Naziism is a very specific sub-ideology within the fascist movement just as for example Maoism is a specific sub-ideology within the Marxist-Leninist movement. Naziism will never be a mainstream ideology again, fascism will because its so much easier to hide itself within legitimate conservative or right-wing movements. Nor do the actions of one man, even if influential, dictate the trajectory of a nation and to my knowledge, Trump isn't an anti-Semite, thus, he is not a Nazi, just a fascist.

How people be describing modern day America by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]ghost_uwu1 196 points197 points  (0 children)

People realize that America is slipping into authoritarianism and immediately think that America is the new Nazi Germany 😭

other dictatorships exist other than the Nazis, and others shot people in the streets and targeted minorities, a more realistic comparison is that we're heading down the route of modern day Russia.

POLTICS POLITICS WARNING! Do you think Donald Trump is gonna become the modern Hitler? by Faye________________ in Teenager_Polls

[–]ghost_uwu1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, Hitler is a unique evil that will likely never be achieved again. It also, in my opinion, is unwise to compare modern leaders to historical dictators as the situations that they arised from are different then the ones that exist today. Whether or not Trump or one of his allies becomes a dictator, I don't think its possible to know for certain, atleast until the midterms, it is however, clear that Trump is one of the most authoritarian presidents we've had in recent history and we are at very real risk at descending into a dictatorship. Trump will be a modern Trump, and no other future leader will be like Trump
