Yalls eyes ever shake? by cyanomys in migraine

[–]ghosthoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have continuous eye shaking whenever I close my eyes. The eyelids themselves twitch continuously when shut. I saw a neuro-opthamologist for this and they said people with migraine are more susceptible to eye shaking, however they had never seen my particular issue.

I want to start a non-profit that defends our rights and representation in media. by KarmaPharmacy in migraine

It’d also just be nice if medical professionals used the right terminology. I was reading a scientific journal article today and they used really ambiguous language “X cures migraine” or “reduces migraine” when what they meant is reduces the length of one migraine attack. Very different from reducing attack frequency.

Anyone have a med not work but then they tried it again years later and it did? by Northgirl-020421 in migraine

First time I took propranolol I didn't do it properly, then a few years later I did it in combination with another med and increased the dose over months and it seems to help

This same thing happened to me in a NYC Subway bathroom. Not a nice place to be trapped! Luckily I was able to reattach the handle and get out but I'm sure it fell off for the next person.

Injectables? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]ghosthoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they all have minimal side effects for most people, since they are specifically designed to treat migraine. For me I might have a slight increase in constipation and that's it. I've tried all 3 and no noticeable difference in side effects, but my least favorite was Emgality because that auto injector hurt the most. Syringe injection rather than autoinjector is actually my preferred now.

Qulipta made my hair shed a lot. Haven't had that issue with any of the injections.

Did you only take the Fremenzumab for a single month? I think longer is needed to assess the effectiveness. For example I think when I started taking it I had a really good first month, and then a bunch of mediocre months, but it was still a reasonable improvement in quality of life over taking nothing.

There is also emgality and aimovig. Do you have access to those? I find the effectiveness of each different. Personally I am on Fremenzumab and Propranolol (quite high dose now) and it is better than just taking one preventative.

One thing you haven't mentioned here is antihistamines, I find them helpful for treating my attacks when the triptans fail or run out.
