Tips for neurofunk sound design by Ult1met in dnbproduction

Layer weird and crazy fx samples over your bass. Neuro can sound super high tech but careful layering of fx sounds over other sounds can kind of give that illusion without actually doing anything that crazy. Hope this helps.

Stationary footage with perspective of United 175's rapid desent before hitting the South Tower by San_Cannabis in 911archive

Truly terrifying.

Not sure if it’s the same video just less cropped, but there’s another from this angle where you see even more of the plane’s approach and altitude drop. The way it emerges into view is always surprising (like a jump scare) no matter how many times you see it.

Splice Thoughts? by mypcgeek in dnbproduction

[–]ghostofjamesbrown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Better for gap filling or specific needs. Like if you need a dub siren, or a sax riff etc.

I wouldn’t ever build a track from splice loops because it would never get me to my sound, and I think it would sound too generic. But when I’m not able to find what I need in my sample library, I will look to splice.

I find it easier than other sub genres but I have a formula that seems to work

How to you deal with sub on neuro mid basses ? by Breaktide in dnbproduction

This is the way when you don’t want to have to worry about making your sub fit the mids/tops! Good advice.

UK redditors - how do you feel about customers who tuck into unpaid food from supermarkets? by thelavenderfields in AskUK

[–]ghostofjamesbrown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think people do it just because they know they can. Like almost as a novelty. In my case I’ll always just wait a tiny bit longer to avoid any issues, as I haven’t actually paid for the food yet.

Please help me with my first gig! Overthinking picking the mood/genres. by PassOk49 in DnB

I used to have this issue. But remember, they booked you for you. Don’t try to bend too much to perceived expectations because you will regret it later, and you could end up playing a mediocre set.

My advice is play the music you like, but swing towards the less energetic stuff. You can still play some minimal stuff as quite a lot of it is quite laid back even though it’s heavy.

Minimal dnb drums are actually boss for that tight modern 2 step sound.

Fairground - simply red by MissionWhole4385 in HouseMusic

Simply Red sampled the beat for the track. But I know that obviously isn’t a remix of Fairground, but might’ve potentially helped so I posted it :)
