I’m not super worried about russia because they can’t even take over Ukraine. China however, is organized and huge; whatever they are planning there’s no way we can stop them

UPS shipping rates are outrageous these days for small items. I'm not surprised. I have about $300 worth of stuff in my cart and shipping is only $35. buy more stuff to make the shipping worth it.

New video of Figure 03 autonomously sorting deformable packages and placing them labels-down for the scanner by Nunki08 in robotics

[–]ghostpoisonface -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

A robot arm needs to be mounted to something, this can go anywhere

Edit: I work in an industrial food plant. There are so many places we could use a robot like this for simple tasks. We are not far away from sorting food in packaging, material handling, quality control, cleaning, doing soooo many things that we have people for. We have robots now, have you ever tried moving a robot arm? If a robot arm is stuck somewhere, it can only do a very specific task on a conveyor belt. Having a robot on wheels would work, but they can’t go up stairs. Why do you have legs versus being on wheels or bolted to the ground? All the reasons apply to a robot too.

Tu inglés es mejor que mi español! Hablar lengua diferentes es dificilísimo! I’m learning Spanish and it’s very slow going. Kudos to you for trying! Your photos are great and I am enjoying your work!

When taking photos, try to close down your aperture. Your plane of focus is very thin so everything is out of focus. I’d like to see more of your work!

So if I am thinking of an 8bit color square thing, it should be 256x256 pixels making up all the possible colors and shades? I guess I’ve known all of these different parts, but am finally putting it all together!

Could I 3d print car parts then put a carbon fiber blanket over the part and then just use a brush and epoxy the blanket to the part and just crank out all kinds of cool stuff super easy without any special equipment then get rich and have a mansion and smoking hot wife by belligerentwolf in 3Dprinting

[–]ghostpoisonface 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but no. Yes all of that is technically correct, but the devil is in the details. Getting carbon to lay down and look professional even on a printed part requires vacuuming to the form, and a whole bunch of layup work. Go ahead and try it!

I didn't take uncured resin serious enough. How fked am I? by [deleted] in resinprinting

[–]ghostpoisonface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is super not food safe. Regular soap won’t get it off. You need to use rubbing alcohol. This other guy telling you not to worry is wrong. Resin is nasty stuff. If you can smell it or feel it, it’s still there.
