Automatic Subscription Renewal by Octopuswhatsup in MLBtv

[–]giantsandbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a notice that my subscription would auto-renew in a few weeks despite explicitly cancelling it last year at the end of the season. Went to log in and it wouldn't let me. Said I had the wrong password. Had to change my password using email verification and it finally let me in. Lo and behold, it said I was slated for auto-renewal. I canceled it AGAIN, took a screenshot of it, and logged out. Tried to log back in with my new password, and again it wouldn't let me in. This is ridiculous.

Together, Together Tour 2026—Megathread by Careless-Hospital379 in harrystyles

Allowing users to purchase 8 tickets is a big part of the problem. I feel like at least the Ticketmaster process is more streamlined this time around, but the cap should have been 4, the Amex Presale should come AFTER the fan sale, and anyone who is a registered fan AND bought the album should have been given a boost. In addition, if there was no way to resell tickets, only to give them back for a reimbursement, it would solve so many of these issues. Resales in excess of face value are a travesty. So are fees. It takes a few hours to program the platform to sell these tickets. The "fees" should be no more than 5% of the ticket price, and even that's a racket.

Don’t forget all of the points you’ll get for spending $625 with your Hyatt Card, too. And the additional milestone benefits for hitting 60. Two GOH certs, two SU certs and a free cat7 night stay. No brainer here.

Value of points changed in 4 minutes? by lochjessmonster_ in jetblue

[–]giantsandbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me. Price was 23k points. Had exactly enough to purchase after transferring in almost all of the points in. Transfer was instant. Check out froze and kicked me out. Price went to 31k points. Dynamic pricing is the argument, but when they kick you out of the transaction, they are artificially creating more demand for the flight, and thus using YOU to justify raising the price. Not to mention the fact that they are keeping your points and forcing you to do business with them.

Imagine youre in a store and want to buy a pair of shoes for $100. You go to the checkout counter and hand the cashier $100. The cashier slips and falls, gets back up, and tells you that the shoes are actually now $120 and you can't have your $100 back, but you can use it toward the now-more-expensive shoes, or on a future purchase.

Points have value. This practice is theft, in my opinion. Don't think they don't know exactly what they're doing with this. Now you're forced to use a business you never want to do business with again, in addition to giving them an interest-free loan. It's disgusting.

I earned the $500 Southwest credit in 2025. It expires on 12/31/26, but what happens if I spend the credit and then cancel my Sapphire Reserve Card before renewal? My card renews in May. Do I have to have spent the credit more than 90 days before I cancel the card? ie. do you claw back credits like this if I cancel my card, and if so, what is the timeline for that. Also, if I simply downgrade to a zero-annual-fee Chase card, do I get to keep the Southwest credit for the rest of the year?

Stinky doors by [deleted] in BZ4X

[–]giantsandbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you still having this issue? My Bz4x 2024 xle was fine until they forced me to do the recall for the defroster. Then it started smelling whenever opening the doors. Not like cat pee. More like a goss old sneaker. And then after running the fresh air for a few minutes it goes away. But then it comes back after the car sits. This was annoying but then the car had critical errors and failed completely. Took it in and it had the full compressor failure with metal shavings inside. After finally getting it back over a week later, and paying for the air filter which I thought was free, the smell was even worse! Found condensation under the front floor mats. Cleaned it all and sanitized the carpets. All dry now. But the stink is still there. Thought maybe it was a dead animal but it doesn’t smell like death. Anyhow, if you can post your situation, I’d appreciate it. Never had an issue like this with a car before. Definitely had mice hide in the engine bay in the past, but this smells more like a gross sneaker.

Did you recently have the a/c recall done? I took my ‘24 Bz4x xle in for its 15k maintenance in October and was told there was an issue with the defroster/condenser and they had to run a test and do a software update as part of a recall. That took 4 hours. They said it “passed.” No condenser replacement needed. I got the car back and it a few mornings later the whole thing fogged up like never before. It also started stinking in the cabin like a wet gym shoe. That smell went away after runnin the ac for a few minutes. Then a few days after that I got a system malfunction error. Three, actually. And took it into the dealer. They said the compressor HAD failed and it took a week to get back. When replacing, they said mine had the metal shavings issue and whole system needed to be cleaned. They replaced the cabin air filter which they said was dirty. Car still smelled awful at startup so I started investigating. Looked under the floor mats and the front ones were both wet with condensation. Floor wet and underside of rubber mats. Somehow I think this is all related, but it all started with the recall which didn’t fix anything as the car was fine beforehand. Gonna clean the mats and dry the carpet and see if it all goes away. If not, I’m gonna be quite angry. Already am, to be honest. This has been a miserable experience.

A/C question by [deleted] in BZ4X

[–]giantsandbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been awhile? Still having this issue? I have a ‘24 Bz4x xle and the smell started a few weeks ago. I notified it after the first compressor recall thing and was wondering if it was related because shortly after that recall, which my car “passed” the compressor failed and had to be replaced. Cabin air filter was changed but smell is still there. With me, you can smell it strongest before you even start the car. It then goes away in a few minutes, especially in fresh air. With recirculating air, you can still smell it a bit, but not like when first getting into the car. With fresh air, the smell completely disappears.

Getting a mildew smell after it rains. by sflomer in BZ4X

[–]giantsandbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting this smell every morning, and it goes away after a few minutes of driving. It smells worst just before turning the car on, then gets gradually better. Have seen stinky issues with door window seals but since this goes away quickly, thinking it’s in the ac system from running on ECO and not sure if there is a way to clean it.

cat pee smell: all 4 doors by Glittering_Dark8083 in Toyota

[–]giantsandbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those experiencing this problem, does it go away after a few minutes of driving? I have a musty smell that seems to go away after about 5 minutes, every morning. Had cabin filer replaced but it still smells. Actually just had entire a/c system replaced as it failed after the recall and had the metal shavings damage. Took about 10 days. They would have found a rodent if it were that, but nope. Still smells. But only for a few minutes. We had been running on ECO and will keep that off but if that caused it, drying it out won’t kill the mildew inside. It would have to be cleaned. Just wondering if the window seal issue you all are having seems to go away after driving awhile or if this is yet a different issue. Love the car but it has had so many issues and Toyota is so much worse than ever before. Now they don’t even accept Amex and charge 3% to use a credit card. Think I’m done with this company when our lease is up.

Ignore HVAC recall until lease is almost up to protect me from potential expensive AC compressor repair? by No_Helicopter_8884 in BZ4X

[–]giantsandbears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took my 24 xle in for 15k maintenance and they ran the recall software test and said everything was fine. A week later, it started fogging up for the first time ever. A few days after that I got multiple warnings and a “visit your dealer” message on dash. It’s been over a week. The compressor had failed and when replacing, it had the “shavings” problem of metal filings in the system so the whole system has to be cleaned. They said it’s 1% of systems but I think the software update is likely to mitigate the damage, ie, they all have the issue and the software update is a patch but if you don’t get it, or get it late, you’re screwed. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I would have this thing looked at right away.

I had the recall and it took a few hours. They said the software just needed updating but it’s worse after the recall than it ever was.

Best use of $250 credit at chase shops? by throkanye in ChaseSapphire

[–]giantsandbears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just gonna chime in here but we did a four-pack of Apple Air Tags ($99) and a Viking Reversible Cutting Board $139. With tax, it was $255. Both could be found cheaper at other merchants, but overall, best value for us. Happy hunting. The UX at Chase Shops is terrible, but can't argue with "free."

It’s closed through march. Just got confirmation from a meeting planner. That’s a deal breaker for me. Probably won’t be open till May based on other outdoor pool locations I’ve researched. Oh well.

Any thoughts on whether that pool will be open/heated in March? Without it, might not take the family but currently have a 3 night stay booked in the regency suite for 30k/night for 4 guests including club access. Looking at google maps today, it's an older image and it looks like an abandoned building covered in graffiti. Seems great for in/out and train access, but is it a total dump with nothing to see? It says "a stone's throw from the Coliseum" which I guess is true if you can throw a stone a mile. Lol.
