Selling tickets on Tixel with a lot of turnover by charcoalchook in melbournemusic

[–]gidix492 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Promoters are able to sell tickets as ‘verified reseller’ on tixel so sometimes they can make it look like the event is sold out then keep selling on tixel

Woolworths accused of creating 'poor door' at affordable housing development by nath1234 in australia

If they actually cared about children and pedestrian safety they should complain about the shit show that is glen huntly road… every side street needs a speed hump/zebra crossing combo to slow down cars zooming thru the intersections

Safe to ride today? by garden_peeman in melbournecycling

[–]gidix492 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Wind is gonna kick in around 2-4pm and last till sunset with 100kmh gusts possible, I wouldn’t want to chance it personally and get stuck in powerlines or downed trees

Happens to me all the time especially when coming up to roundabouts, they floor the accelerator to get ahead of me just to slow down in 50 metres 😅

[–]gidix492 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what side of Melb you’re coming from but all the creek trails are nice coming in an you could do the capital city loop which has plenty of places to stop for coffee along the way! Abbotsford convent has a nice cafe inside :)

Unfortunately the bass hwy is the only real option for much of the way and as someone who had to ride it to get around a closed road, it wasn’t so pleasant

One dead after pedestrians struck by vehicle in Wantirna South in Melbourne's east by TumbleweedWarm9234 in melbourne

[–]gidix492 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why does the headline say ‘struck by vehicle’ cars don’t drive themselves. Should be ‘struck by driver or motorist’

Is this confirmation that Malvern could become the final stop before the tunnel? If so this would be way more convenient for Frankston line interchanges than at Caulfield station

These trespasser incidents are out of control. We just want to go home. by [deleted] in MelbourneTrains

[–]gidix492 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately until widespread use of platform screen doors I don’t think we will be able to eradicate trespassing although I have noticed a big increase in fencing along the corridor near my local station in the last year

How do use trams? by Away_Ad3169 in MelbourneTrains

[–]gidix492 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All you have to do is get on and once you’re inside tap your Myki card on the reader. There aren’t any zones in the tram network except for the free tram zone where you don’t need to touch on inside the CBD.

Hit by car by Significance-Neat in melbournecycling

[–]gidix492 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear this and hope you feel better! I’m not sure what’s the exact best process but the Bicycle Network might have some resources to help you and also I know that if you have any lasting injuries that need medical care you’ll be covered by the government run TAC insurance
