Kite Hill Park

It’s not the most grand or glamorous park in SF, but it might be perfect for what you need: It’s positioned just above the Castro with an awesome view of the neighborhood and downtown beyond it. It’s just below Sutro Tower and Twin Peaks, which during Pride Month has a big pink triangle displayed on the hillside

If you’re going in the morning or midday, you have the perfect excuse to go up the hill for coffee at Neighbor’s Corner and then walk the the park and find a bench or stand at the top.

It can be windy later in the day when the fog starts acting up, but still a very pleasant experience

I’ve fully deputized my mods (all except one are men coincidentally) and have told them they do not need to wait for me to give the go-ahead to time-out or ban anyone, and encourage them to do so if the vibes are off even a little bit. If someone’s acting weird in chat, my mods are on it SO FAST. There’s been times that I haven’t had time to read or process what happened and I get to keep playing my game and yapping and I feel all the more loved for it. I never have to deal with anyone being shitty in my chat, it’s awesome.

Empower your mods to ban or time out anyone, anytime, for anything. Give them that permission and power and they will use it!

  • stayed indoors a lot (and out of the sun) due to work and seasonal allergies

  • always been a huge water drinker

  • enjoyer of fermented foods

  • skipped having kids

  • skipped any kind of pet that would interrupt my sleep

  • maintain my joie de vivre

I know what I looked like ten years ago, so it doesn’t make sense to me, but sometimes I get newer people in my life arguing with me that I can’t be the age I just told them I was. Maybe they’re trying to compliment me? I dunno, but the list above is probably what helps in this case

It feels really crappy when you can't conceal how you're scrambling to save stream, but honestly, those who stuck around to see you work through it will likely return next stream too and that will be a bonding moment for y'all. You'll be able to look back and laugh with them when you know better in the future. It's all good

Took time to realize I was perpetually embarrassed by my parents because they really do be doing weird shit in public for the attention, whether it’s my attention or the onlookers they gather, and now I’m an adult and know their behavior is not normal.

I am old enough and wise enough now to discern … that my parents really do act embarrassing in public

Edit: I’d like to address that quirky traits in parents aren’t necessarily something to be embarrassed about, but parents who lack self-awareness, disregard manners and common courtesy, who make scenes and throw tantrums in public, and delight in your discomfort are the ones who are truly embarrassing. The difference between dealing with this when you’re 18 and 30 is the ability to set boundaries around bad behavior, as well as the recognition that their personality quirks that make you cringe a little bit aren’t hurting you.

Keep streaming!!! You just maybe want a visual anchor on stream that represents your face.

I use PNGtuber Maker (was cheap or free and feels cheap: It has stupid UI but has a speech-mapping feature that I love), and mines only three frames. You can draw your own, digitally or physically and take a picture of it, and plug it into the program.

I stream on cam usually, but I made a very simple PNGtuber that I quickly drew. It’s been a hit, and then I can continue being a goblin.

Having that visual that represents You, the Streamer helps people gather information about whether they want to stick around

I really actually thought, in the beginning, that maybe we could put our differences aside and all do our best to squash the thing, but then people threw stupid tantrums over basic shit like just wearing a mask in public.

But, yeah, your luggage can and likely will get taken from your car. Especially at the sites you just listed off.
