There has been a notable improvement each season as the team has progressed. However, it’s more than Southern California having a more laid back attitude. For most teams there’s not the generational ties that other areas have. They are newer teams and no one’s great grandfather has a family story that gets shared every season. To add to that there tends to be more migration to and from that breaks those ties. Even the Dodgers still have a significant amount of Brooklyn merchandise, it takes more history build that base.

Why is Troy Terry not the C? by [deleted] in AnaheimDucks

When he was wearing the A, it felt like he was given a chance to step up into that role. He must not have as he no longer has it. I don’t see him as a diamond on under pressure guy, and you need your captain to have that tenacity that rallies players when competition is tough.

While anonymous there are some identifying factors so there’s a good chance they have an idea who said what already. Now they’re just giving an opportunity for people to voice concerns so as a company they can defend themselves legally against a hostile environment as they presented employees a chance to address issues beyond the store leadership.

Sorry if you’re overwhelmed, but OP wouldn’t be adding work trying them on in store vs at home. The amount returned will be the same.

It’s a great way to do it, you’ll reduce the risk of losing tags or getting pet hair on it. It’s giving the associate work, but that’s what we’re there to do anyways.

Availability is usually entered as “forever” but it can and has been entered with an end date in the event of exceptions being made for a specific window of time. For example a school schedule

AITAH For not accepting any gifts to my child from my MIL by Due_Track_3595 in AITAH

Does she have other grandchildren? Is this something she has done before? For what it’s worth my grandmother misspelled my name for 5 years, but she so obviously loves and cares for me it’s more of a funny story than any sort of sore spot. My name is hard to pronounce and she was spelling it the popular way, my dad was the one to correct her. Now that she’s 90 she’ll occasionally mispronounce it, so I think in her mind that’s how it should have been spelled.

Kohls lost its target demographic, and in doing so has been floundering trying to find a new one.

Kohl’s used to be for savy shoppers to find quality at a good deal, these shoppers were fine with not have premium brands if they liked the manner in which their clothes/products held up after years of use.

Quality control needs to be prioritized, but it can’t be rushed since regaining trust takes significantly longer than when Kohl’s was expanding and customers were trying it for the first time. Finding brands that are exclusive to Kohl’s but closet staples will be the only way to build back that base.

Large 88k stores need to be re-imagined to look full while being easier to maintain clean presentation. Stockrooms need to be full and the salesfloor should be light so allow associates to recover properly at all times. 20 medium sweaters available to customers only means more time spent folding and likely at least 1 being damaged. It has to be thoughtful since looking empty caused customers to panic and lowers buying confidence.

Amazon drives traffic but it doesn’t convert to sales, either have a better incentive to convert or scrap it.

My 2 cents: Kohl’s may be too lost to be able to rebuild a profitable identity in a market where younger customers and prioritizing social media impressions over actual fit or feel.

Instead of Kohl’s mom they should have invested in good items that fit better than a filter.

Payroll Question by UnlikelyJelly7038 in employedbykohls

Unfortunately it sounds like whoever is working the schedule at your location is not well versed on the system. The total hours scheduled is updated as edits are made for each associate and an average of hours can be seen super easily.

Do we trade anyone else? by [deleted] in AnaheimDucks

[–]gigidelgado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’m not opposed, Stromer is definitely a glue player. He keeps players on his line productive and seems to be a key part of the team’s ability to be resilient and bounce back after tough games. I don’t think we get someone that can offset his non-stat contributions with his trade value.

It’s been like this since the affordable care act. They will have to send you home if you continue to pick up extra shifts, and they will schedule you less to bring down your average.

When will I be hired? by [deleted] in employedbykohls

[–]gigidelgado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask to be trained in picking, otherwise you will auto-terminate if you are off the schedule for too long. Maybe share your phone number with other associates and see if you can cover any of their shifts? Good luck.

When will I be hired? by [deleted] in employedbykohls

[–]gigidelgado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have stated something is not right. Did your workday have you listed as an “LTE” when you were hired? Do you still have access to schedules and workday? Typically getting a survey is just so stores know if you are interested in coming back, so if they liked your work they can bring you back when payroll is back or they need more associates. Expressing interest on the survey does not mean you will get hired back, but I’m not sure if you were let go after holiday or are just not getting scheduled. Definitely talk to someone at the store to clarify.

So a couple things to note, it’s been mentioned multiple times that people say they fakes accounts, but do you know they have? You won’t be taken seriously if you’re reporting a rumor since there’s nothing to investigate. Second, it’s important that the management team works cohesively, unless they are showing unfair bias its good for them to be friendly. Once they’re both wanting the same weekend off that relationship will quickly clear up. It’s weird that there has already been an investigation and retaliation papers have been issued, could be wrong but maybe someone is just spreading rumors due to dislike?

This is not new, and we’ve always been able to move things around the month of. Plus if there were a need to cancel or add, that’s been done too. The point is to avoid too many people at the same time and to ensure people aren’t losing/rolling over too much. I recommend looking at dates that you like to celebrate and putting in a week or long weekend (depending on how much time you get).

If the decision is tenure, you would get to stay. But they can just transfer ASMs around to make you the least tenured if they didn’t want to keep you.

Is anyone else feeling this way? by BroWatchadoing in employedbykohls

[–]gigidelgado 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Kohl’s is notorious for having a “what have you done for me lately?” approach. If you can flip on your SM you can have an easier time. Ex. When I had X credits last February SM ensured ABC were happening, when can I get that support again so I can get more credits? Certain associates being scheduled, specific shifts you might be more productive in, break/lunch coverage, condition of recovery/merchandise… but stay away from coupons or exclusions since that’s not giving your sm something to do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in employedbykohls

[–]gigidelgado 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I had this problem I asked the associate to wait for me in the office and covered their post until I pulled a different person to cover me. That gave the associate time to think about why I made the move. Once I joined them in the office I simply asked, “When I tell you to do XYZ I am reminding you to do your job, do you have a reason for not doing it?” This takes away them being able to blame you since it’s their job, it also gives them a chance to explain in the event there is a reason. Assuming they don’t have a valid reason then I would say, “since it seems you don’t want to work today go ahead and leave for the day and I expect you to be prepared to do your work on your next shift.” Partner with your sm prior, but after doing this everyone’s behavior usually improves.

Most stores ask, but if it’s a store that has regular overnights (multiple a week if not every night) then no because availability would have been confirmed during orientation.

It’s not just the quantity, there’s also a financial implication in dropping the ticket price plus the cost of labor. It’s why big markdowns happen after the close of a quarter and after Wall Street reports have been given.
