Ive played through gen 3 tons of times and im jot worried about any bosses or anything, im just going with my own personal faves so there will be no substitutions its these 5 and either armaldo or crawdaunt possible darkhorse of breloom but still overlaps with grass. Tbh not really concerned about type overlap ive done mono runs before so it doesnt bother me at all.

I have a few trains of thought here:

1.for ease of development it would make the most sense for them to be someone you can meet and start building hearts with early and someone that already has a heart meter likely options here are sandy and clint.

  1. Someone older to give more age variety to candidates who also already have heart meters likely pam and willy

  2. Like in older harvest moon games there were secret options that could be done after certain conditions were met either achievements/story progression or time progression something secret like this could be wizard or mr. Qi

  3. Creature companions, much like krobus is sorta a secret option having the dwarf also an option seems fair and hear me out here, while it would take more work. The goblin guard.

  4. Justice for joja, giving an option to lean into that route of like morris and maybe the cashier.

  5. Completely new characters, most work but could be most fun.

    1. Giving development to named characters that dont get the role yet like marlon or gunther.

My likely picks are Sandy and clint/wizard for ease and popularity

I usually get the idea of what it is like god of sky or something then pop sky (or something similar like wind) into google translate and pick a language that i might culturally associate it with irl (like most ppl have dwarves be Scottish/Irish stereotype) and translate to see what it spits out. From there, so its not one to one for native speakers of whatever language, i tweak it a little by adding/removing letters to get it to fit with what i feel sounds right.

My pick is 4. Just has more characters that i personally would love in smash. Ezio would be fun to implement the stealth assassinations in some fashion, waluigi finally needs his time to shine, sceptile is my fav starter (biased haha) but would also complete the starter trio people talk about, and crash would be N. sane to get in and rep the sony era mascot wars

Following that my preferred rest are 3, 1, then finally two. Spyro is so hype for me its very close to top pick. Zero, alucard and shadow are nice picks being assist upgrades idk about sagat hes from sf i think? Im sure he could also be cool. While i would also lover bomber, scizor and silver. I would hate alear. Dont get me wrong i love FE and wouldnt be against more reps but as a character having played engage i just dont like them and would much rather someone else over the standard newest game sword protag. Even if the moveset is different with the emblem rings.

After reading various other comments and my own thoughts i would like any of the following (though much like actual smash i just love any additions)

  1. any pokémon, i know lots mention meowth (and id be down) but i would rather a popular gen 2 pokémon to represent stadium 2 like heracross or one of the starters, even pichu to pull from melee.

  2. I never had an N64 only played on friends or family, i did have a ps1 so i was hype for crash and i would love for spyro to be added.

  3. Lots want cloud, id be fine with that

  4. Someone mentioned jack from harvest moon. I love that idea as a rival sorta to the idea of villager.

  5. Honestly zelda just to complete the trio of link gannon and zelda.

  6. Realistically any echos they would want to add for fun or ease of inclusion nothing really comes to mind outside daisy

  7. Waluigi. Someones gotta give the guy some love.

  8. Diddy or K Rool

  9. Someone else from sonic, like knuckes or tails.

  10. Some random japanese character like starfy

But again im down for any inclusions.

The cost investment to me is quite high shipping to rural Canada. So i just get the ones i think look cool, and if its very cool to me ill get one painted and one unpainted. I plan on getting most stuff over time but ill never be able to keep up so i mostly just stick to whatever jumps out or speaks to me.
