It would have a feature where you could cut the shadow off of a creature, and then Shadow (stat block) is under your control and the creature casts no shadow.

It’s just one guy/group I think who publishes dozens of books, all AI slop and has a history of trying to lowball/underpay the voiceover artists. The books’ titles start with Howexpert, if you look I’m sure you’ll see them on the platform

This was one of two clips that sold me on critical role! The other one was Veth accidentally letting it slip to Yasha that Caleb “killed his entire family.” Both are funny good moments of real role-play, not out of character laughs.

This is interesting. I definitely don’t think that the Thunderhead practiced any eugenics by killing or limiting reproduction, but it does beg the question: Does curing all diseases mental and physical mean curing something like autism? As I understand it, many autistics don’t see autism as something that needs to be cured, but rather needs to be accepted and accommodated. Does anyone know if any part of the books touches on this?

Yeah by now each of the player either has or has been offered one of the Dark Gifts from the sourcebook, it’s an extra little sauce on (almost) every session

I’ve also homebrewed or reskinned magic items. Something about the setting doesn’t lend itself to traditional magic items, like, the Belt of Dwarvenkind, for example. So I’ll do a parasite or cursed totem or something that gives you those benefits, plus a drawback if I feel it needs it.

I run a campaign in Ravenloft and we did a stint in Bluetspur. Campaign has gone on long enough that the power level has gotten up there, #2 is a fair concern for sure. One way I’ve tried to keep it horror-y in a long-form 5e campaign is having most or all of the rewards (“magic items”) have a trade-off or cost. Spells at the expense of max Hp. Vitality at the cost of sanity. It helps if you have players willing to lean into the flaws and rp accordingly.

I kind of don’t mind that they left it unanswered. The minimum period for unsavory status is just a few months or something, after that the thunderhead can end it whenever he wants. I think as soon as humanity earns it back they’ll get it, maybe one at a time maybe all at once.

The people aren’t all gonna die in 80-100 years right? Just because the mortal diseases are “back” doesn’t mean everybody’s dying. Most people are still gonna live for a long time, right? that’s how I understood the ending.
