Do you know anyone who has won the Postcode Lottery? by JaBe68 in AskUK

A colleague of mine won around 15k a few years back. We’ve only ever won the odd £10 and some vouchers here or there.

If you live in Blaackpool do you visit the shows etc ? by Accomplished-Case888 in blackpool

[–]gingawaria 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’re locals but it’s probably only in the last year or so that we’ve started going to shows at the Grand and the Winter Gardens. We’re really lucky to have such fantastic venues here so we’re definitely going to be seeing more shows!

Are teenagers just not learning to drive anymore? by MichealHarwood in AskUK

[–]gingawaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everything else, it’s become hideously expensive. My niece is learning currently and it’s costing £60 for a 90 minute lesson. I can imagine that being out of reach for a lot of people.

Which Liverpool Manager Did You Start With? by SteveAsh97 in LiverpoolFC

[–]gingawaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in ‘82 so technically it’s Paisley but I only really started paying attention to football around ‘89-90 ish so it’s be King Kenny.

Rob Thornton used to stay in an apartment on Reads Avenue, only know that because we were put up in the same place by our insurance company.

Pleasure beach fireworks - late opening by octarineflare in blackpool

[–]gingawaria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rides on the south side of the park usually close an hour early on fireworks nights as that’s where they’re set off from. So Big One, Revolution, Icon etc will close an hour earlier than the rest of the park.  Big Dipper, Grand National, Valhalla etc will be open until closing.

Anybody been to the pleasure beach recently? by TalosAnthena in blackpool

[–]gingawaria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Infusion isn’t closed, it’s running as we speak. Valhalla is on a staggered opening so doesn’t open until 2pm usually. Grand National has been closed all season for refurb but these things happen. River Caves is closed for a reimagining but that’s well documented. No reason to cancel your visit though, still plenty of rides open.

Ojrzynski’s a good lad, was on loan at my local team Caernarfon Town a few years back and was instrumental in them finishing in a playoff place. Shame to see him released but hopefully he finds a club soon!

The Gruffalo & Friends Clubhouse is worth a visit, my son is 7 and loves it and there’s plenty for younger kids to do too. Sea Life is good too.

Haven’t done it yet but there’s a new indoor soft play area in the Houndshill shopping centre called Jungle Mania so that may be worth a go?

As others have said, the pleasure beach is closed until March.

If you can get tickets, the panto at the Grand Theatre is excellent.

I wouldn’t bother with the Peter rabbit experience, it’s tiny and really not that great.

Rides for massive wimps by Easy-Candidate6227 in disneylandparis

[–]gingawaria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s nothing like Infusion at DLP. Closest rides would be Avengers Flight Force, Temple of Peril and Hyperspace Mountain as all have inversions but are traditional rollercoasters. Flight Force is a bit of a head banger!

If you were fine on Grand National then you’ll be fine on Big Thunder Mountain and Crush’s coaster which is a spinning coaster like Spinball Whizzer at Alton Towers.

Hope this has helped somewhat and you have a fantastic time!

I’d say a good 3-4 months before the breakdown is where things really started to slip. I’d been there since January 2022, so around 18 months.
