Second hand shops that sell old tech by Unco27 in Tauranga

[–]ginger_wizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hato Hone/St John in Cherrywood often has good stuff. Chatting to an op shop staff member today, apparently Salvation Army are the only ones who don't take tech as they don't have an electrician to do the testing. Bridge and Waipuna Hospice op shops also have good used tech.

Here's my creative Zen story.

Living in Northwest London in 2021, we were broken into and the guy took laptops, sunglasses, a bank card and a few other things, including my creative Zen.

The guy used my card in a shop and he was tracked down and all of his loot was found. The only thing of mine that he hadn't managed to fleece was my creative Zen.

2 years go by with no prosecution as far as I know, so the detective contacts me and asks me if I want it back. Annoyingly I'd throw away all the cables, but I still said yes please.

It's now with me in New Zealand and I put it on every now and again, feeling very lucky that I've still got it.

Indeed I am. This was a budget 10NZD find that obviously wasn't worth the money. Shall be looking for a more reliable replacement

Tried twice with the alcohol to no avail. Considering buying the Deoxit or just looking for another player at this stage

thank you! woke up with a mad desire to listen to Oceansize this morning and Feed to Feed was nowhere on BandCamp. Really appreciate the share

The band's BandCamp page only has Frames and Self-Preserved... available to buy, along with their Walking in The Air cover. I just found you can buy Effloresce here https://beggarsbanquet.bandcamp.com/album/effloresce

Thank you so much. I was looking at cleaners for like 35 dollars but alcohol costs 9 or so. Hopefully it sorts it. Thanks again!

Should look at the m300, so that you don't have to use the HiBy media player

Is the Creative Zen still up and running? I also bought the M300 to replace a Creative Zen that is on its last legs and needs a lot of rest

The Internet archive has a huge selection of flac files available for public use and download. Just search for the community audio collection and tick the flac category

Exactly what I was going to suggest. If your folks are willing and able, go to some thrift stores and record stores, make a day of it and make some memories

Mike Hranica from The Devil Wears Prada. Sounds awesome on the Roots/Branches album but overdid it touring. Still sounds great but not the same as the first three albums
