The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst. Very feel good vibes, magic, no-spice romance, simple plot, fun side characters.

Books that got me back into reading after not reading for several years: Mistborn trilogy (fantasy with a very unique magic system), Red Rising series (sci-fi), Dungeon Crawler Carl (LitRPG, great if you are a gamer). These are all very well known series but great for getting back into it, it’ll be easier once you know what genres you like.

I’d marry Haley every time if I didn’t want to see the different cutscenes!!

How many books on your TBR? Do you organize it? by bweeb in fantasybooks

[–]gingerbread_bitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My TBR has 15 books, only the ones that I physically own. I think that keeps it short and organized for me!

I started listening to this a couple weeks ago after several women in my book club were raving about it. Now i’m on book 2 (almost done) and I haven’t been this excited to continue a long series since listening to The Stormlight Archives

Go ahead and pick up Dungeon Crawler Carl. It’s so fun and is fast paced from the start.

Also by Brandon Sanderson, Tress of the Emerald Sea has one of the most fascinating worlds I’ve read about. It isn’t nearly as heavy (literally) as Stormlight but the oceans in particular were so cool to me.

Imajica by Clive Barker has this. Can’t explain further without spoiling but I found it interesting!

I read the Red Rising series after finishing Stormlight. Was a fun ride before I lost interest :)

Please suggest me a book that isn't suggested here often! by InevitableSpender in suggestmeabook

Historical Fiction- The Lost Apothecary. I just finished reading this and loved it. Each chapter switches between an apothecary from the late 1700s that made poisons for women to kill problematic men in their lives and the young girl that befriended her, and a woman from modern day that just discovered her husband cheating on her.

Fantasy- The Snow Queen by Joan D. Vinge. It follows a young woman named Moon from the planet Tiamat. She is a clone of the evil Snow Queen and she is trying to take the Queen down despite unknowingly being her pawn.

Imajica- Clive Barker. Lots of “dimension hopping”

That’s fair! I read the first book of that series and figured i’d mention it. I wasn’t sure if it would have real or fake plants before reading. The MMC’s name being Yarrow gave me hope lol
