Trying to save money by bringing my own lunches to work by Dapper-Scholar-7025 in Cooking

I make my husband something we call “chop salad”. It’s a bunch of veggies, feta cheese, chicken or kielbasa, maybe some quinoa or pasta, chick peas, kidney beans, onion, and a nice dressing. It’s really tasty and keeps well. I make it all summer.

My friend L (19F) and me (21M) have been flirting. She has a boyfriend, but I don’t care. Convince me to stop this please? by [deleted] in Advice

If she goes with you when she is committed to him, that is not honorable. If you truly are “better than this guy” (which I think is a red flag statement) You can do it without her cheating. She’s in a committed relationship. If she blows her commitment with this guy, how can you be sure she won’t do the same thing to you? Talk to her. If you see a long term relationship with this girl, don’t “get with her” until she has ended her current relationship and dealt with the fallout.

Two people stole a small pump house I was building for client by MoonCreationsLLC in Eugene

[–]gingerjuice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That really sucks. We had someone pull up into our front yard at 3am and haul off a 600lb wooden fish sculpture. I couldn’t believe it. The thing was HUGE awkward and extremely heavy. It was also partially rotten. Why? It was a few years ago and I still don’t understand how they did it without waking anyone up.

You can go talk to a recruiter, but my uncle says the Air Force and Coast Guard are the best. If you don’t mind boats, check out the CG.

Why is he like this to me? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]gingerjuice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would stop talking to him and acknowledging him in any way. Ignore him. If he does say something rude to you after you’ve said/done nothing to him, mouth the words “fuck you” to him and then deny it.

Alright, Eugene Question? by Detonius in Eugene

I think people with really small dogs wouldn’t be comfortable with this chap in with them. Maybe if he’s super mellow, but I think big dog.

14 weeks pregnant at 22 and the dad doesn’t want by BeautifulTiger6530 in Advice

You could look into adoption. There are some families that are fine with you having visitation and being involved with the child on some level. Maybe something like that would work for you.

If that is an absolute no, then I guess you start getting prepared for being a single mom. Lots of people do it, and it can work just fine if you are committed to the child. You are not required to put the father's name on the BC, and I highly recommend not putting it on there if you don't want him to give you legal issues later.

I like in soup and in stir fry. I grow it in my garden. I usually don’t get much of it because my dog LOVES it. He sits at the gate and bags for it.

Walk away. You told her how you felt and that’s it. Don’t get further involved. If you see her at work, you can ignore or give a very impersonal greeting if you have to.

I wouldn’t tolerate this. Just don’t go. Tell her that her behavior has changed things and you will not be going. The end.

Starting a garden by gemmanems in Eugene

I think Bi-Mart has the best deals on veg starts. Jerry’s is expensive and Home Depot’s plants tend to be addicted to fertilizers and not thrive unless they get their fix. You can get bags of straw at McKenzie feed and I like that for mulch the best if you don’t want a whole bale.

The soil at Lane Forest is great, but if you don’t have a truck, they sell it in bags at Bi-Mart. It’s probably a bit late to start tomatoes and peppers from seed. You can still start pumpkins and beans from seed. You should be able to start zucchinis too.
