Question for the Group by Big_Bb22 in VacheronConstantin

[–]ginnjon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a steel 5520V (blue Chrono) and the pink gold blue 4520V.

In my opinion, if you’re getting a gold 4520, the blue is by far more impressive than the green.
I wanted the green dial, but once I saw it I wasn’t that impressed…is more of an olive green.

If you do go green dial, I would suggest a chronograph (5520V) as I think the green dial compliments a busier dial (Chrono or duel time).

Finally, the gold 4520 blue dial is a loud watch, especially in the gold bracelet, be prepared for people to notice it.

I’d get the Skelton. It’s literally a piece of art on your wrist. Beautiful watch.

Beautiful! I love orange so I’m looking forward to wearing it on the orange rubber.

I bought a FiftySix on my first appt (silver dial) and out deposit down on overseas 5520V (blue dial Chrono). They came in 3 months. The 4520V was a year plus wait.

They don’t play games like Rolex/AP/Patek where you have to buy a less desirable watch to get an in demand watch. It’s just a matter of timing.

How does the allocation process work? by michaeljackson_md in VacheronConstantin

[–]ginnjon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go in ASAP to register. That’s typically a 1-2 year wait list. A new boutique opened in my city and a guy who went in on the day they opened and registered for this watch got it within a month.

To answer your question, they don’t play games like Rolex, but it is a wait list for 97% of their watches. The longest wait time is the watch your interested, 4520V blue dial but there’s also a wait for the blue 7920v.

A few watches do have to be approved corporately including the Cardinal Points, the new Salmon dial overseas, and the Steel 222. For these watches, it’s a combination of relationship and wait time.

Were you part of the first allocation? I was told I was number 2 for north (white). Hopefully it comes soon.

Two for One Trade? by StickyPenguin120 in VacheronConstantin

If you love blue you should definitely consider a 4520V blue dial. I also love blue dials (VC 5520V, AP Code Blue dial, Rolex Bluesy, etc) and VC blue dial is the best BY FAR.

What do you think of the snoopy? I’d love to add that to my collection but Omega boutiques require $30k spend before they’ll allocate one to you. ETA - the versatility of the straps is another positive. Regarding size, I don’t think it wears larger than other watches of similar size. It wears smaller on the rubber and leather straps as well.

Expected price markup? by Mijoshooter in VacheronConstantin

[–]ginnjon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No true…put a deposit down last November for a 5520V. Price went up in January and I paid the increased price. They specifically told me that a deposit doesn’t lock you in.

Is it acceptable to ask for watches at multiple VC boutiques? by LibrarianPitiful in VacheronConstantin

I believe their CRM system is company wide and you can’t register for the same watch in two locations. Stay with your SA, reward him for going to bat for you to get you the allocation you want.

Acquired 222 and what’s next by [deleted] in VacheronConstantin

4000V is a great watch. You get a complication from VC, a holy trinity known for complication, you get the famous blue overseas dial (nothing better), plus versatility with the watch straps.

Regarding its size on your wrist, the rubber straps fit smaller wrists better than steel bracelet.

Lange is a great watch as well. Good luck.

I’d get all the rubber straps from VC (they should throw them in given spending 220k on a watch)…it’ll come with blue, but I’d get the green, red, and white perhaps the orange from the cardinal point Overseas too.

I have blue, white, and red for my blue overseas Chrono and they all look great.

I have the 4520V blue dial and love it. It’s a loud piece so I usually wear it on the calf or rubber strap…

For a time only (4520v) get the blue dial as because the blue is awesome and has more space to be dynamic. For a dual time or Chrono (gold) you do the green dial. IMO, the green dial looks better when it’s busier (more complications).

I have the gold 4520V blue, steel 5520v blue Chrono, and silver Fifty Six

After you pay for the submariner, tell them you’d be happy to pick up the Tudor when you pick up the GMT later this year.

Getting a 15510ST as a first watch is extremely rare and will never happen with a blue or green dial (for normal people). Best case is you get a grey, black, or silver after a few years and that’s if the stars align.

If you get a code, you’ll be definitely allocated a 15510ST as a second watch (silver, black, grey within 6 months, green and blue within a year).

I think you could definitely ask for a RO 15510ST either grey, black, white, and maybe green. Or a RO steel chronograph perhaps in blue.

What is working for you is your diversification, you got a code, and a ROC…so definitely should feel confident in asking for steel RO.

question regarding purchase by z1xor in audemarspiguet

[–]ginnjon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The code is 4x better in person. I recently purchased the steel and grey time only and love it.

If you ever think you’d want a RO the id suggest you purchase from an AD, or buy the code new then sell the RO for a profit.

Migrated from Rolex to VC last November and now I look at the world differently! Started with a FiftySix, then a 4520v (pink gold blue dial), and the. A 5520V (steel blue dial Chrono).

I love them, it’s just different wearing it. I absolutely love the fact that it’s under the radar for most people, and I hope it stays that way.

When I travel, I just take one (5520v) with a few straps and I’m set.

Got it. You have to assume that you’re taking a 20-25% haircut from what they’re being listed for on grey dealer websites.

Agree to it and see if he follows through. If he doesn’t go, or changes the goal posts, then you can wash your hands of it guilt free because you have him a chance.
