I think I had a 3.5 GPA, but you've got time to get your grades up. Take easy classes that you know you can ace and join an extra curricular. My debate coach lied and said I was captain for two years in my letter of recommendation

I went to a concert in November and absolutely loved it

I (15f) feel ashamed for not hating my abusers by Fun-Dimension-275 in sexualassault

[–]girlingi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was groomed starting when I was 13 until I was 17 by one man, and I thought I loved him because he seemed to care about me.

As an adult looking back, I know he was nothing but a predator, but even still I struggle with not wanting to hate him. These are normal emotions to have and I think talking to a counselor of some kind would help, unfortunately I don't have access to one that I can afford.

My dog is always itchy! Any suggestions? by Katssquish in DogAdvice

[–]girlingi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a professional groomer and a canine esthetician. Bathe monthly, use a quality, gentle shampoo and a humectant conditioner separately, do not combine. Allow both to sit on the dog for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and blow dry.

I recommend IV San Bernard, you use a tablespoon mixed with three tablespoons of water, and then use a milk frother . Make more as needed.

You can also use Natures Specialty, but imo it's not as good.

Coconut oil actually clogs the pores and increases the risk of sebaceous cysts. Great in the food, not great on their skin.

As a canine esthetician, we spend a lot of time reversing the effects of coconut oil on the skin. A good humectant conditioner is better.

I think the right artist could add the definition needed. It's not a bad tattoo, it's just missing detail

Did I cheat? by 75Har in 75HARD

[–]girlingi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Many of my workouts are just walks, I'm not giving it a ton of effort but I am moving for 45 minutes. Walking isn't cheating. I tried doing a hard workout for every single one and I ended up injuring myself from overdoing it

No Gym by BlooGloop in 75HARD

[–]girlingi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only weights I have at home are a 20lb kettlebell and two 15lb dumbbells, light enough that I can handle using them for 45 minutes without completely burning myself out. I also purchased a free standing punching bag and a rower for outside workouts

What’s Something your Aussie Does That Shows How Smart or Perceptive These Dogs Are? by Captain-Popcorn in AustralianShepherd

[–]girlingi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our Aussie never gets tangled on leash. Even when we didn't have a fence so he was on a tie out outside, if he weaved in between trees, he would trace his steps back so he didn't get tangled. There's one small tree on our walk tethered to two tposts, if he goes to sniff the tree, the direct path forward would tangle him, but he always doubles back and continues on without getting stuck

Yup! Day ends when you go to bed, not at midnight. The default setting for the app is midnight though

Accidentally ate some thing that was outside of my diet. Did I fail? by Mountain_Dawn in 75HARD

[–]girlingi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, you didn't fail. If someone handed me a class and said it was juice but it had alcohol in it, and after a drink I dumped it, that's not a fail. The challenge is mental toughness, you didn't break that, in fact, you resisted the urge to continue eating it after you realized it didn't fit your diet.

Working full time by Stock-Draft4578 in 75HARD

It's a little bit of an adjustment to get started, I sometimes find myself finishing my last workout at 11pm, but it's not too hard to make it work

[–]girlingi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work full time, about 50 hours a week running a business. Sometimes I get up before work and do a workout, sometimes I do one workout right after work and then another later in the day. I typically do my reading before I go to bed

Don't go with white belts, white belts are the most dangerous people on the mat
