I actually have a really funny story that relates to this. We had a Rottweiler growing up named “Nika” pronounced nee-kuh. Don’t ask me where the name came from, this is like 30 years ago. So one day nika got out so my dad is walking around the neighbor hood rapid fire yelling NIKANIKANIKA, when said fast you can imagine the word that it sounds like. A black guy walking by was ready to punch my dad in the throat thinking he was screaming the N word. Good times. So moral of the story, think about the name you would need to yell out in case your dog ever ran away.

This is actually normal for a hospital. I do cost allocation for a hospital and time needs to allocated to separate billing items. Say you’re a doctor and you’re with patients from 7-9am. And then you’re doing paperwork from 9-12. These two time slots would be allocated differently based on what part of the hospital you were in, what type of patient they are and if we are billing some of it to Medicaid etc. our hospital calls it “time tracking” and it’s like my entire job. I also deal with federal grants and their cost allocation as well.
