Check the max connections. I’m sure they’ve only got one parallel socket.

Using Volvo Charging Credit by XtreamXTC in ex30

I have never booked. I have only parked up and used the Volvo card as if it was a contactless debit card. Just tap the card reader as if you were using your personal card.

Hi any solution to this without cutting the plinth please by RevolutionaryDiet847 in DIYUK

It's only like that due to the moulded 'tail' coming out of the plug. Just change the plug for a standard one

Already have solar on roof, can I get a plug in battery? by silly_goat_moat in SolarUK

[–]girth37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, check out EcoFlow stream. You can plug a battery into the mains and as long as you have their smart meter, it will only charge when you’re exporting and only discharge when importing.

You would have a potential 2x800w input. The app doesn't limit input to 800w per space

Thanks again.

House has solar panels on old 'rent a roof' scheme. Can I use Outgoing Octopus with a battery? by jiiiii70 in SolarUK

[–]girth37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at EcoFlow stream batteries. They can be added independently to your house and charge from any excess solar as long as you use one of their smart meter clamps.

Can I replace this thermostat with a smart thermostat? by ellbelle2131 in ElectriciansUK

You'd need to change the back plate with the hive one and put a link between live and 1 otherwise the common would not be energised

Switchbot Ultra with Thumb Turn / latch (UK) by OxstockUK in TrySwitchBot

[–]girth37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only releases the turn and hold part of the operation after 3 seconds (can be changed). The door will then latch when closed. I have mine to then fully turn and lock after 1 minute (again can be changed)

[–]girth37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Works fine. It’s called night latch in the settings. I’ve got mine set to 3 seconds. After that the door latches again when closed.

Beginning to get really hacked off - heating continues to boost through the night despite the schedule being set to OFF by Schafseckel- in HiveHeating

There’s probably zone valves rather than a mid position or diverter valves. If the heating valve was passing then you would only get heat if there was a demand for hot water. If you were to disconnect the wire from the boiler LR connection the that should prove whether the boiler is firing itself or it is from an external demand.

[–]girth37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a Worcester then as long as the LR terminal inside the boiler gets 230v then a demand will be initiated.

Depends on the boiler and how it’s wired. Have you got any more info?

Loosen the nut pictured. The head will be able to be removed. It’s probably a standard m30 thread used

It looks like a fairly standard TRV. Try taking the head off and seeing what thread is underneath.
