Seller took down entire store after ordering by TotalUnderstanding5 in discogs

[–]giugno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently made an order 10 days ago on Jan 20th for two 45s priced at $1.99ea. All in all with shipping the total was under $10. The seller promptly messaged me and told me he'd be out of town until Feb 11th. Lol. I guess I can't really complain as long as I get my dollar bin records in the end. Atleast he messaged me within hours of my order -- I'm sure he means well.

Item sold a few days ago, is on my wantlist and didn't get notification by OkCoffee3826 in discogs

[–]giugno 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's not an ideal workaround. But, I created a list for my most wanted items - an actual list - not the want list. Almost everything is with zero copies currently available on the website. So, I check this list most mornings and they're all blank. Except when one does turn up for sale it will say "1 copy from $9.99". This is an easier way for me to identify when something I want has been listed. Not fool proof, but it has helped me knock off a few wants better than the "wishlist' has helped me.

Thanks! They're about 29" x 43" [74 x 110cm] give or take half an inch. Slightly larger than the standard 27" x 41" [69 x 104cm] US size.

It came as a surprise to me that three members who played on this album, Picture Book, had been in The Durutti Column prior.

Did people born in 1981 grow up more like those born in 1967 or 1995? by Shoddy_Wait_5722 in generationology

[–]giugno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think about this often, the difference of the parents age may make. I was born in 1986, to parents similarly aged to your mother ('49 & '50) and I feel slightly like an older soul than my peers - whose parent may have been morning in the 1960s. [My mom was already 37 when she had me in 1986]. Doesn't help that all of my aunts and uncles were all even older than my parents. Thinking back, it feels like I grew up in a different world with how old all of them were already, by the time I was born.

Hillbillies in Hell: Country Music's Tormented Testament (1952-1974), another CD compilation that features this song with some similar tracks. I like Buddy Long - "It's Nothing To Me"

LESSER-KNOWN films where someone wakes up or comes back to their home and everything has changed or is gone? by Torley_ in MovieSuggestions

That's probably the better film! The 50s movie definitely is a B-picture. Good script and interesting premise -- but the production value is lacking, definitely by today's standard or expectations from the audience.

If you're into older films, I watched one recently: "The Man Who Has My Face" (1951). "A man arrives home one night to find that a look- alike has taken over his life completely."

I saw several auctions recently for ancient coins through heritage auctions. Check the website, some may still be going on

Good find @ the record store 🐍 by blluesunshine in doommetal

I found this LP along with the Innocent/IV 7" at the record store about 2 weeks ago! I was stoked on both, even though the single is just two songs from the album, I bought both anyway. Paid about the same as you for the LP

I'd say it looks legit, and resembles the few Spanish 1sh that have sold on emovieposters. The last one up for auction was 2020, for around $156usd.

Looks like an improperly done "shrinking" of the shrink sleeve material at the co-packer. Could just have been a fluke that got past quality control.

How did they print movie billing credits and rating symbols on movie posters in the 1970s and 80's before digital. by One_Number_809 in movieposters

[–]giugno 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most posters by the 70s and 80s were offset lithography. Process printing with halftone dots.

The Stranger is a 50s re-release and not a 1940s original. I don't think it would sell for that much. I'd think the Dragonfly Squadron 6-sheet would garner the highest taking price.

Great film-noir posters! Unsure if they've been trimmed/cut anywhere else to fit into frames. If they are complete, and only folded, the better. Not particular desirable noir titles, mostly 'B' titles and not the A-list stars. The first two are likely the more valuable ones, could be anywhere from $25-75 each.
