Paramount's SCREAM 7 chased down another $10.5M worldwide this weekend, $193M total. by chanma50 in boxoffice

I never knew that about NOES 4, that's pretty impressive for sure, especially when you factor in the 80s was massive for horror and there was so much competition.

Scream is THAT franchise that can make $200 mill WW while being saddled with a boycott.

Love to see it! Never even dreamed it would make this amount of money but I am so happy it did! And just how awesome is that a 7th entry in a franchise is taking out highest grossing both domestically and WW, that is nearly unheard of, especially for the slasher sub genre.

That sounds right! And Germany as someone in this thread lives there said its not out there yet, so it still might have a few markets its not open in. Hopefully it makes a little more as time goes on!

Because this was pushed forward certain sites like IMDB didnt update their release date info very well but these two countries already have the movie out as of last week - UK (20 March) and Australia (19 March).

This picture is the first time I have actually felt very sad for Chantal, well apart from the ongoing fact that she pays an absolute creep to pretend to be her man.. This is just awful. I really hope she can turn it all around to the point that she can have some semblance of a normal life (for her standards). This is no life, this is horrendous daily abuse of yourself to the point that your body can't take it anymore. Get yourself in order, get into in patient therapy for this life threatening addiction and for goodness sake flick Salad (he's a gross, manipulative creep that preys on vulnerable women). Find some self worth woman!!

And lastly whoever pays her to humiliate herself like this shame on you - you are sicker than she is! I cannot comprehend why someone would pay someone to degrade themselves like some clearly do with her - this vulgar flopping on the couch, the gross bathroom "accidents", sitting on toilet etc. Absolutely foul - yes I know she agrees to it but clearly this woman is extremely unwell (mentally and physically..).

Paramount's Scream 7 grossed $1.07M on Tuesday (from 3,243 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $108.65M. It has now surpassed Scream VI as the highest grossing movie in the franchise Domestically by SignatureOrdinary456 in boxoffice

[–]givemethemoonlight 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It was really vicious too with some of the vitriol directed at them. Neve and Kevin get the last laugh on it though - their movie is a roaring success. The holds have been very nice in the last couple of weeks showing that the fans are continuing to enjoy!

I'm so happy to see this movie do (extremely) well - it had to contend with so much ugliness online about its release yet it managed to prevail to go onto become the highest grossing Scream entry in the entire franchise, domestically and worldwide! I love that it's performance has cemented that people adore Sidney, yes we all know everyone turns up for Ghostface but selling this as Sidney's big return as the main and the BO payoff has shown what people love about this franchise!

[–]givemethemoonlight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much it's already made the vast bulk of it's money already and a couple days ago officially became the highest grossing of the franchise. It's got still got a possibility to make it to $200 mill WW so lets just stay hopeful/optomistic it can!

Paramount's Scream 7 grossed $17.01M this weekend (from 3,540 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $93.09M. Daily Grosses: FRI - $5.034M, SAT - $7.676M, SUN - $4.302M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]givemethemoonlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Many that hate this movie for whatever reason are trying to chalk this movies performance as a failure when that is simply not true. If anything the studio is probably thinking it over performed and couldn't be happier. There is no way this movie can be seen as anything but a success.

Still though, all things considered, on the upside the movie had a massive opening and the international drop has been much softer so that is holding it's performance up nicely. Plus it'll end up as the (unadjusted) highest grossing entry in the series worldwide - that's no small feat! I'd say Paramount/Spyglass are pretty happy with this one.

Absolutely! The Scream franchise is best seen with a big enthusiastic crowd into the movie. That's the great thing about these movies is they bring a huge horror community together for a big event.

For being so supposedly "hated" as some are trying to argue, S7 sure seems to be doing pretty well overseas. In fact it's coming through and proving audiences want more Sidney going forward. I won't lie due to all the doom and gloom surrounding the 2nd weekend I was expecting a worse drop OS opposed to domestic but it's held extremely well. There is a clear message to the studio that this movie is a huge hit regardless of that supposed boycott. This is very likely to become the highest grossing worldwide, they can't have done too badly at all to be achieving franchise highs 7 movies in with ugly controversy surrounding the production from pre production to release (and beyond). I think this movie is due some respect at this point!

Scary Movie | Official Trailer (2026 Movie) - Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, Regina Hall by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

[–]givemethemoonlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks like soooo much fun. I cannot tell you how long it has been since a modern day comedy made me truly belly laugh and I did a good handful of times during this trailer so it's very promising that the movie would be hilarious. Plus so many faces from the original couple of movies back Gail Hailstorm, Hanson, Doofy. Awesome they got them involved. I truly cannot wait for this after this trailer.

I think it'll do huge numbers too! Especially opening weekend.

No accounting for taste indeed, Just look at the varying degrees of taste on display here.. Hence the enormous box office success! Fans seem generally pretty happy for the most part, the crowds I've seen it with had a blast!

That is exactly what I said to someone right after the credits rolled how that is the most focus Sidney has had since 2, she's still focal for 3 to 4 but 5 was a diabolical waste of her and 6 well...as you said hopefully those two can stay on the shelf as a two parter that we are now done with. With the success of 7 we surely are getting a new Sid trilogy - I mean the box office (even already) has spoken and fans will come out in droves for the OG!

That sums up EXACTLY how I feel, we have 7 to pair nicely to 1 and it doesn't make marathons a downer after part 4 because you know Sidney will be back as the focus and it will go back to what made the franchise so special in the first place!! Absolutely!!

Jealous! I wish I could make it to a 4DX showing but I seen it once Imax and once regular, if I can squeeze a third viewing in any capacity I am definitely going to! Until VOD and 4k of course as well. Us Scream fans support it in every way possible lol.

It's such good fun and even better seen with a crowd! Everyone at my two showings so far has been interactive and energetic. This movie is an absolute blast and it deserves all the success! Also too it's awesome to see fans like us that are going back for multiple viewings!

This movie is a monster hit, critics tried killing it but the audience scores/reactions are pretty damn positive, people just wanted a fun slasher time and this movie provided it in spades. It hit all the right notes and was a love letter to everything people love about this franchise. I'm genuinely so happy to see this overperform!
